Getting a good night's sleep can potentially save a young adult's life Research by sleep scientists in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson ' s Department of Psychiatry shows a correlation between poor sleep and suicide risk in college-aged adults. Suicide also was the third leading cause of death among individuals ages 15-24, accounting for more than 6,000 deaths." Suicide is a difficult problem because it emerges from complex interactions between many, many different factors. Disrupted sleep is one such factor, " said the study ' s lead author,  Andrew Tubbs, a medical student researcher in the Department of Psychiatry ' s  Sleep and Health Research Program.
