Avatrombopag is effective in patients with chemoradiotherapy-induced aplastic anemia: a single-center, retrospective study

Aplastic anemia (AA) is a disease characterized by bone marrow hematopoietic failure. AA can be classified as inherited and acquired, and acquired AA can be further categorized into primary and secondary ones. Acquired primary AA includes severe AA (SAA) and non-SAA (NSAA) based on their peripheral blood cell count. In the past 30 years, immunosuppressive therapy (IST) containing antithymic globulin (ATG) and cyclosporin A has been used as the first-line drug therapy for SAA or transfusion-dependent NSAA not suitable for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) [1 –3].
