Serum uric acid levels and the risk of diabetes mellitus in premenopausal and postmenopausal women: the Suita study
Conclusions
Serum uric acid levels were positively associated with the risk of diabetes mellitus in postmenopausal women, but not in premenopausal women. However, the lack of an association in premenopausal women may have been due to limited power, so further research is required to confirm this menopausal status–specific association.
