In Plain Sight: An Inconspicuous Case of a Giant Cell Tumor
A 37-year-old Jamaican male presented to the emergency department for two months of increasing fatigue, left thigh pain, and difficulty ambulating. He has been living in the United States for the past two years. His medical history includes iron deficiency anemia diagnosed in 2008 during a work health exam. He was placed on ferrous sulfate tablets without any additional workup performed. At that time, he had been living in Jamaica and worked as a cruise ship chef. A year prior to presentation, he had undergone a single blood transfusion which he attributed to his iron deficiency anemia.
