Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for mycophenolic acid and its glucuronide determination in saliva samples from children with nephrotic syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: The evaluated LC-MS/MS method has met the validation requirements for saliva MPA and MPAG determination in children with nephrotic syndrome. Further studies are needed to explore plasma-saliva correlations and assess their potential contribution to MPA monitoring.PMID:38485859 | DOI:10.1007/s43440-024-00574-9 (Source: Pharmacological Reports)

Are there sex differences in oxytocin and vasopressin V1a receptors ligand binding affinities?
CONCLUSION: These data suggest that sex differences in binding affinity are not a likely source of the many sex differences that have been observed in the effects of OT and AVP in hamsters and other species.PMID:38480666 | DOI:10.1007/s43440-024-00577-6 (Source: Pharmacological Reports)

Further proof on the role of accumbal nNOS in cocaine-seeking behavior in rats
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings support accumbal nNOS as an important molecular player for cocaine seeking while its inhibitors could be considered as anti-cocaine pharmacological tools in male rats.PMID:38480667 | DOI:10.1007/s43440-024-00571-y (Source: Pharmacological Reports)

Transcriptome analysis of an AKT inhibitor-resistant endometrial cancer cell line
CONCLUSIONS: Drug resistance to AKT inhibitors may depend on genes related to cell adhesion-mediated resistance and transforming growth factor β signaling.PMID:38478219 | DOI:10.1007/s43440-024-00581-w (Source: Pharmacological Reports)

Cannabinoids in the treatment of glioblastoma
Pharmacol Rep. 2024 Mar 8. doi: 10.1007/s43440-024-00580-x. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGlioblastoma (GBM) is the most prevalent primary malignant tumor of the nervous system. While the treatment of other neoplasms is increasingly more efficacious the median survival rate of GBM patients remains low and equals about 14 months. Due to this fact, there are intensive efforts to find drugs that would help combat GBM. Nowadays cannabinoids are becoming more and more important in the field of cancer and not only because of their properties of antiemetic drugs during chemotherapy. These compounds may have a direct cytotoxic eff...

Association between gene polymorphisms and initial warfarin therapy in patients after heart valve surgery
CONCLUSION: The genotypes of CYP2C9, VKORC1, and GGCX were found to have a significant impact on INR variability during the initial phase of warfarin therapy. However, no significant association was observed between TTR and gene polymorphisms. These findings suggest that focusing on INR variability is crucial in clinical practice, and preoperative detection of gene polymorphisms should be considered to assist in the initiation of warfarin therapy.PMID:38457019 | DOI:10.1007/s43440-024-00575-8 (Source: Pharmacological Reports)
