Venture Capital Gives America a Strategic Edge in the Age of Technology Wars
U.S. early-stage hardware startups are seriously disadvantaged by a persistent lack of financing. Congress authorized the U.S. Department of Defense to spend $75 million to invest in dual-use hardware startups. Fight Aging! Newsletter, March 13th 2023
In this study, we report the extensive and progressive accumulation of misfolded proteins during natural aging/senescence in different models, in the absence of disease. We coined the term age-ggregates to refer to this subset of proteins. Our findings demonstrate that age-ggregates exhibit the main characteristics of misfolded protein aggregates implicated in PMDs, including insolubility in detergents, protease-resistance, and staining with dyes specific for misfolded aggregates. Little has been achieved to date as a result, but these efforts are now growing alongside the new longevity industry. Politicians pay attention to the movement of money in the world, for the obvious reasons; they are nothing if not ...

Illumina is rolling out a new instrument series, NovaSeq X, that reduces it to ...

Shortening Hospital Discharges: Technical and Workflow Solutions
This article looks at some technical solutions. Ali Parsa, CEO and founder of Babylon, an AI and digital health platform, says discharge planning doesn’t require “massive amounts of technology” or “rocket science”; just good planning from the beginning of the stay. Indeed, one research study (suggested to me by Dr. Geoffrey Rutledge, Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of HealthTap) achieved a significant time saving through low-tech measures such as checklists. Other respondents, however, reported that their solutions were making a difference in discharges. Weaknesses of Current Technology W...
