Need some advice on pre-med requirements.
Here is where I am at right now: Associates of applied science degree GPA: 3.94 Bachelors of Arts degree GPA: 3.72 I still need my required pre-med classes. Would you suggest taking them at a community college or going the non-degree student route at the University of Washington? I understand that the requirements will take me roughly 1-2 years to fulfill with work and school, but I am curious about what you believe would be the best route. Would it also be in my best interest to get... Need some advice on pre-med requirements. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

University of Washington Residency thoughts
Hi all, Anybody have any informed thoughts or reviews on the current UW EM program? The rank list deadline is coming up and as much as I loved the people, program and the city during my interview day, I still have a few concerns (that may or may not be legitimate) that haven't been addressed. I haven't seen much said about the program on here, so any thoughts from people in the know (UW students, current residents, etc) would be incredibly helpful for me in finalizing my rank list. It... MMI Guide - Resources and Tips
by JoshuaMed (Posted Wed Jun 07, 2017 10:48 pm) Here is some advice from a medical student on doing well in the interviews.Does which school you are applying to matter?Seeing as to how I was accepted to multiple schools, I do not see why it would not work at any school that interviews students in the MMI format. Whether that is McMaster, UofT, Queens, McGill, Dalhousie, UBC, or any other school you have your sites on, MMI preparation is a skill that can be improved.Part 1: Resources1. A partner: You need someone to practice with on a weekly basis. Review recent health care articles together and ask each other prompts. Pr...

Premed Undergrad - UW or Brown?
Hi guys! I'm a senior in high school, and after a lot of consideration, I've narrowed down my top choices for colleges to the University of Washington and Brown University. I'm hoping for an environment that is competitive, but not too cutthroat, and I've heard that the curves in STEM classes at UW create a really toxic environment and almost certainly would result in a lower GPA. However, Brown is known for grade inflation, so would a high GPA at Brown still be worth the same as a lower... Premed Undergrad - UW or Brown? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What should I do during medical school to improve my chances?
Hi all! I am starting medical school in the fall, and I am really interested in becoming a psychiatrist. I would ideally like to match into a competitive psychiatry residency (Ex: Yale, University of Washington, etc.) and I am hoping to get some advice from others that are more experienced than myself. My main question is, what can I do during medical school to make sure that I am a great applicant for these types of residencies? So far, I have a first-authored publication about autism in a... Third time re-applicant, aspire to go US MD. Help is appreciated
Hey everyone, I rarely post in here but I was hoping to tap into some of your wisdom! I have been rejected for the 2nd cycle in a row. Had two interviews this cycle at University of Washington and Washington State University (WSU hasn't officially rejected me but I am planning for the worst). Stats: 512 MCAT, 3.48 cumulative and 3.39 science Lots of EC, lots of volunteering, lots of shadowing, lots of clinical exposure, some research RED FLAG: I also have an institutional action, in...
