Discussion Kawasaki Disease (KD) was first described in 1967 by Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki, and since has been identified world-wide. It is an acute, self-limited, febrile illness seen usually in children < 5 years. In North America the incidence is ~25/100,000 children < 5 years.
