Development and validation of a risk prediction algorithm for evaluating the efficacy of postoperative adjuvant TACE therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma
CONCLUSION: This model may be an easy-to-use tool for screening patients suitable for PA-TACE treatment and guiding the selection of clinical protocols. But further research and external validation are required.PMID:37622693 | DOI:10.2174/1386207326666230824090204

Unusual Initial Presentation of Hepatocellular Carcinoma as a Clavicular Head Mass
CONCLUSIONS: This case demonstrates a very unusual HCC presentation, the importance of a thorough workup of bone metastasis, and the limited value of AFP for HCC screening, even in disseminated disease.PMID:37616520 | DOI:10.46883/2023.25921003

Global dynamics of a compartmental model to assess the effect of transmission from deceased
We present a compartmental model for the spread of a disease with an imperfect vaccine available, also considering transmission from deceased infected in general. The global dynamics of the system are completely described by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functions. To support our analytical results, we perform numerical simulations to assess the importance of transmission from the deceased, considering the data collected from three infectious diseases, Ebola virus disease, COVID-19, and Nipah fever.PMID:37619887 | DOI:10.1016/j.mbs.2023.109059

Impact of frequency and duration of freeze-dried inactivated tissue culture hepatitis A vaccine (Aimmugen ®) vaccination on antibody titers; a japanese cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: Three doses of Aimmugen® are efficacious, but four or more doses induce more robust and sustained antibody production. Additionally, four or more doses may be effective when there is a need to ensure long-term immunity or risk of prolonged exposure.PMID:37620202 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.030
