Development of antibiotic resistance in animals not receiving antibiotic therapy
C R Biol. 2023 Aug 31. doi: 10.5802/crbiol.116. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe fight against antibiotic resistance in the animal sector over the last ten years in France (Ecoantibio plans) has largely focused on reducing the veterinary use of antibiotics. However, antibiotic resistance in an animal is not necessarily due to antibiotic therapy, but can also result from the transmission of resistant bacteria or resistance plasmids. Several examples illustrate the importance of this transmission of antibiotic resistance in the animal world, which are detailed in this communication. Like in human medicine, this nosocomial t...

Deciphering the evolution of the temporal and geographic distribution of French Mycobacterium bovis genotypes using a high throughput SNP-targeted amplicon sequencing method
This study allowed classifying 618 different genotypic profiles (combination of a spoligotype and 8 loci-MIRU-VNTR profiles) into the nine previously identified clusters. A global analysis of the entire collection of the National Reference Laboratory has made it possible to represent the evolution of clonal complexes and clusters in time and space for better assessing epidemiological changes of bovine tuberculosis in France.PMID:37657678 | DOI:10.1016/j.meegid.2023.105497

Parental occupational exposure to solvents and risk of developing testicular germ cell tumors among sons: a French nationwide case-control study (TESTIS study)
CONCLUSION: Overall, no solid association was found between parental occupational exposure to solvents and TGCT risk. The association found with maternal occupational exposure to fuels and petroleum solvents among older men needs further investigation.PMID:37649372 | DOI:10.5271/sjweh.4102
