Les scores d ’évaluation de la dermatite atopique: Outcome measures for atopic dermatitis.
Les scores d’évaluation de la dermatite atopique: Outcome measures for atopic dermatitis. Ann Dermatol Venereol. 2020 Nov;147(11S1):11S12-11S18 Authors: Lacour JP Abstract Scores evaluating the severity of atopic dermatitis are less well known and less used in daily practice of dermatologists than those for psoriasis, but things are changing. Indeed, the numerous trials and therapeutic advances in the field of eczema have also imposed the use of scales to objectively assess the severity of the disease and its improvement with treatment. The scores were initially numerous and poorly valida...

Ann Dermatol Venereol. 2020 Nov;147(11S1):11S25-11S30 Authors: Vermersch-Langlin A Abstract Atopic dermatitis is a common condition and the clinical presentation is often classic. Yet management of the disease varies widely, not always taking into account the severity of the disease and its repercussions on the patient and his environment - personal or social. With on one side the resilience of the patient and on the other side a shortage of general practitioners or dermatologists, a lack of un...

Ann Dermatol Venereol. 2020 Nov;147(11S1):11S31-11S36 Authors: Misery L Abstract Atopic dermatitis has a very significant impact on children and adolescents. Having visible lesions, but above all almost permanent pruritus or sometimes skin pain inevitably has consequences on all aspects of daily life, including sleep, education and relationships with others, family and emotional life. It also has an impact on the whole family. Stigmatization may occur. Treatment and espe...

Physiopathologie de la dermatite atopique et des autres maladies atopiques : une approche globale est-elle possible ?: Pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis and other atopic diseases: is a global approach possible?
Abstract Atopy is defined by the propensity to develop an exaggerated type-2 inflammatory response to environmental molecules. Clinically, atopy is diagnosed when atopic disease occurs: atopic dermatitis, food allergy, atopic asthma and allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis. Whereas the classical "atopic march" is increasingly challenged through epidemiological studies, type-2 cellular inflammation is a characteristic shared by the atopic diseases. This inflammation can be innate (non-specific: eosinophils, mast cells, dendritic cells, innate lymphoid cells [ILC]), or adaptive (antigen-specific, involving...

[CDAGS syndrome (craniostenosis, deafness, anal abnormalities and genitourinary malformations with skin rash)].
DISCUSSION: The specific dermatologic aspect combined with craniosynostosis suggested a possible diagnosis of CDAGS syndrome, even in the absence of urogenital or anal lesions. This syndrome may take numerous different forms. The appearance of porokeratosis previously noted was not found here. The underlying genetic substratum of this syndrome is not known as yet and additional genetic studies should be considered. [Fatal interstitial lung disease and pneumocystis during dermatomyositis associated with anti-MDA5  antibodies].
DISCUSSION: Anti-MDA5 antibodies are associated with a specific clinical phenotype and a high degree of risk that should alert the dermatologist to the high likelihood of ILD having a poor prognosis. Associated clinical signs are erythematous, hyperkeratotic or ulcerated papules on the palm creases, as well as fingertip or periungual ulcerations or digital necrosis. This situation is associated with a high risk of pneumocystosis. However, no recommendations concerning prophylaxis are currently available. [Association of borderline tuberculoid leprosy and tuberculosis: A case report and review of the literature].
Abstract INTRODUCTION: In metropolitan France, nearly 20 new cases of leprosy are diagnosed each year. The incidence of tuberculosis in France is 8/100,000 inhabitants and there are very few accounts of association of these two mycobacteria. Herein we report a case of co-infection with borderline tuberculoid (BT) leprosy and disseminated tuberculosis diagnosed in metropolitan France. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A male subject presented with diffuse painless infiltrated erythematous plaques. The biopsy revealed perisudoral and perineural lymphohistiocytic epithelioid cell granuloma as well as acid-alcohol-...

[Erlotinib-induced scarring alopecia with a folliculitis decalvans-like presentation].
DISCUSSION: Scarring alopecia with a folliculitis decalvans-like presentation secondary to anti-EGFR is a rare adverse event. The exact pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Treatment is difficult, and while systemic antibiotics are effective, they must be maintained for a long duration in order to avoid recurrence. Early recognition is important to limit the development of scarring alopecia due to the difficulties of stopping treatment in advanced-stage carcinoma. [Impact on quality of life and autonomy of patients aged over 75 years treated with anti-PD-1 for metastatic melanoma: A single-centre prospective study].
This study shows that neither quality of life nor autonomy appears to be affected by anti-PD-1 treatment in patients aged over 75 years. However, these results should be interpreted with caution due to the small number of patients included, the short follow-up period and the single-centre data. Nevertheless, the prospective analysis and the complete onco-geriatric evaluation and monitoring yielded unique and original data. [Haemorrhagic complications following ibrutinib intake after dermatological surgery].
DISCUSSION: Ibrutinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor whose mechanism of action plays a role in platelet adhesion. It is known to cause haemorrhaging, either spontaneously or following invasive procedures, especially at the beginning of treatment. In the case of low-risk haemorrhagic procedures in which bleeding may be controlled by mechanical haemostasis, ibrutinib should be discontinued 3 days before and after surgery. In the event of recent initiation of ibrutinib and in the absence of urgent dermatological management, it is preferable to schedule any surgical procedures 3 months after the start of ibrutinib. [Reluctance determinants of dermatologists about tattooing in patients with psoriasis. An international study].
GEM Resopso Abstract BACKGROUND: Tattoos are an increasingly common phenomenon, with a prevalence of around 10-30 % of the population in Western countries. The "Tatou" project assessed the risks of tattooing for patients with psoriasis. The first part revealed strong opposition to tattoos in these patients on the part of dermatologists, despite fewer than a quarter of them having any personal experience of complications. The second part showed a very low rate (6.6 %) of local complications on tattoos in these patients as well as absence of severe complications. These observations led us to asse...

DISCUSSION: Ungual lesions do not appear specific and do not in themselves allow diagnosis of LE. They can in fact occur in other diseases such as connective tissue disorders. However, their diagnosis is important because certain of them, such as pterygium, can lead to severe ungual dystrophia, with functional consequences. In our study, pterygium and onychoschizia appeared to be associated with cutaneous discoid lupus erythematosus and multisystemic involvement. The coexistence of peri-ungual lesions related to cutaneous lupus erythematosus and/or multisystemic involvement does not out differentiation of lupus ungual lesi...
