Endovascular repair of thoracic aortic pathologies: Postoperative nursing implications
Endovascular stent grafting is increasingly used to manage descending thoracic aortic pathologies. The procedure was introduced at the study hospital in 2001. We sought to examine the short-term clinical outcomes of patients who underwent this endovascular stent grafting, with the aim of using the result as baseline for development of an in-center clinical management protocol. Ferric carboxymaltose in patients with iron-deficiency anemia and impaired renal function: the REPAIR-IDA trial

Thoracic aortic aneurysms in octogenarians: the results of open surgical repair using hypothermic circulatory arrest with antegrade selective cerebral perfusion.
Conclusion: The early and late outcomes after thoracic aortic surgery at our hospital using HCA with ASCP in octogenarians are acceptable. Operative Outcomes After Open Repair of Descending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms in the Era of Endovascular Surgery.
CONCLUSIONS: In the era of endovascular repair of DTAAs, operative death and morbidity outcomes for open repairs are observed to be low. Five-year results for endovascular repair of acute complicated type B aortic dissection
Conclusions: This study confirms the excellent short-term outcomes of TEVAR for acute complicated type B dissection and demonstrates the results to be durable and sustained over long-term follow-up. Although aortic reinterventions were required in one-quarter of patients, no aortic-related deaths were observed. These data support the use of TEVAR for acute complicated type B aortic dissection but also highlight the importance of life-long aortic surveillance by an experienced aortic referral center in order to identify and treat complications of the underlying disease process and treatment, as well as new aortic pathologies, as they arise.

Hybrid aortic arch repair for complicated type B aortic dissection
Conclusions: HAR in zone 1 and 2 appears a viable alternative to conventional aortic arch surgery in patients with complicated type B dissection. Stroke and endoleaks remain complications that need to be addressed. Treatment of type B aortic dissection with complete supra-aortic debranching and thoracic endovascular aortic repair in zone 0, however, is associated with high mortality, which might be reduced by improved technology using branched stent grafts.
