Red cell distribution width is associated with stroke severity and unfavorable functional outcomes in ischemic stroke
ConclusionOur results demonstrate that RDW is associated with stroke severity and unfavorable functional outcomes at 3 months in patients with ischemic stroke.

Risk profile, clinical presentation, and determinants of stroke subtypes among patients with stroke admitted to public referral hospitals, Northwest Ethiopia in 2021: A cross-sectional study
ConclusionAge, the level of sedentary physical activity, absence of a family history of chronic illness, hypertension, and past stroke were independent determinants of stroke subtype.

A nomogram for predicting atrial fibrillation detected after acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionPredictive models based on clinical characteristics, laboratory variables, and neuroimaging variables showed good calibration and high net clinical benefit, informing clinical decision-making in diagnosing and treating patients with AFDAS.

Prevalence, risk factors, and clinical outcomes of remote intracerebral hemorrhage after intravenous thrombolysis in acute ischemic stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsAlthough rICH is uncommon after intravenous thrombolysis, its presence can lead to worse functional outcomes and higher mortality in acute ischemic stroke. Patients at high risk of rICH must be identified based on potential risk factors.

Identification of magnetic resonance imaging features for the prediction of unrecognized atrial fibrillation in acute ischemic stroke
Conclusion Initial MRI at the time of stroke may be useful to predict which patients have cardioembolic stroke caused by unrecognized AF. Further studies are warranted to verify these findings and their application to high-risk patients.

Dynamic nomogram for predicting acute kidney injury in patients with acute ischemic stroke: A retrospective study
ConclusionIn summary, we explored the incidence of AKI in patients with AIS during ICU stay and developed a predictive model to help clinical decision-making.

Heart Failure Status among Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients: A Hospital-Based Study
CONCLUSION: There is a high prevalence of HF among acute ischemic stroke patients. Older patients with a history of hypertension and previous MI are at higher risk. Since patients with HF have a higher mortality and morbidity rate after experiencing an ischemic stroke, close cooperation between the neurology and cardiology specialists for providing advanced care for survivors is required.PMID:36059928 | PMC:PMC9433237 | DOI:10.1155/2022/7348505
