A novel method for preparing clot analogs under dynamic vortical flow for testing mechanical thrombectomy devices
CONCLUSIONS: Dynamic clots generated in dynamic vortical flow differ significantly from static clots in terms of their composition and mechanical properties, which may be beneficial information for preclinical research on mechanical thrombectomy devices.PMID:37309134 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231182850

Impact of the first response unit on prehospital on-scene time among paramedic-suspected stroke patients: a retrospective before –after cohort study in Finland
Revascularization of an occluded artery by either thrombolysis or mechanical thrombectomy is a time-critical intervention in ischaemic stroke. Each link in the stroke chain of survival should minimize the dela...

Predicting models for arm impairment: External validation of the Scandinavian models and identification of new predictors in post-acute stroke settings
CONCLUSION: Scandinavian item-level predictors are valid in a different context, finger mass flexion outperformed known predictors, days-to-admission predict discharge mild arm impairment.PMID:37248917 | DOI:10.3233/NRE-220233

Optimization of collateral grading on computer tomography angiography
CONCLUSION: A dual-phase CTA is significantly similar to a mCTA assessment of collateral score and may be applied at community-based centers. Absolute or relative thresholds for torcula opacification may be used to identify poor bolus-scan timing thus preventing erroneous assumptions of poor collaterals on sCTA.PMID:37226428 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231176310

Scalp acupuncture regulates functional connectivity of cerebral hemispheres in patients with hemiplegia after stroke
ConclusionThe changes in functional connectivity between the cerebral cortex and basal ganglia in patients with cerebral infarction showed a weakening of the bilateral hemispheres and the enhancement of the connections between the hemispheres. Scalp acupuncture has the function of bidirectional regulation, which makes the unbalanced abnormal brain function state restore balance.

Altered dynamic functional network connectivity states in patients with acute basal ganglia ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: AIS not only altered the interaction between the different dynamic networks but also promoted characteristic alterations in the temporal and topological features of large-scale dynamic network connectivity.PMID:37201623 | DOI:10.1016/j.brainres.2023.148406

Roche ’s BTK inhibitor fenebrutinib significantly reduced brain lesions in people with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis
Fenebrutinib is an investigational, potent and highly selective oralBruton ’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, the only reversible BTK inhibitor currently in Phase III multiple sclerosis (MS) trialsPhase II study met its primary and secondary endpoints by reducing the total number of new gadolinium-enhancing T1 brain lesions and significantly reducing the total number of new or enlarging T2 brain lesions compared to placeboThe safety profile offenebrutinib was consistent with previous and ongoing clinical trials across more than 2,400 people to dateBasel, 17 May 2023 - Roche (SIX: RO, ROG; OTCQX: RHHBY) announced today p...
