P005/44 Using the pEGASUS-stent with antithrombogenic properties and single antiplatelet therapy in a case of thrombectomy
IntroductionRescue stenting is used more and more in stroke cases with large-vessel-occlusion or medium-vessel-occlusion refractory to mechanical thrombectomy. The pEGASUS-stent(Phenox) represents a device which is equipped with a hydrophilic polymer coating(HPC) with antithrombogenic properties. The coating allows for implantation under single antiplatelet therapy, thus possibly reducing the risk of bleeding in acute stroke cases.Case HistoryA 79-year-old woman was rushed to emergency room due to left-sided hemiparesis and National-Institutes-of-Health-Stroke-Scale(NIHSS) of 14. Computed-tomography-image showed an occlusi...

A rare cause of abdominal pain managed unconventionally: acute renal infarction caused by atrial fibrillation: a case report
ConclusionsAcute renal infarction from thromboembolism is a rare but serious complication of arterial fibrillation. More efficient and different options for intervention methods will benefit the treatment of this disease. Here, we report a combination therapeutic method that has not been used in acute renal infarction associated with arterial fibrillation, and which restored renal perfusion and prevented long-term kidney injury.

Sinus of Valsalva Thrombosis Detected on Computed Tomography after Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement.
CONCLUSIONS: Cardiac CT after TAVR can detect sinus of Valsalva thrombosis, and attention should be paid to this potential source of subsequent systemic embolization. PMID: 32281322 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

r-tPA with loading dose of clopidogrel and aspirin therapies for capsular warning syndrome attributed to middle cerebral artery atherosclerotic stenosis: A CARE-compliant case report
Rationale: The capsular warning syndrome (CWS) is a rare and special type of transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) syndrome. The pathophysiology of CWS is very complicate, and intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) is rare cause. Moreover, the effective and standard therapy has not yet been established. Patient concerns: A 47-year-old man experienced repeated and exacerbated TIAs of right hemiparesis and dysarthria. Fourteen hours after the first episode of TIAs, he developed more severe right hemiparesis and dysarthria, the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was 12 points, and did not recover i...

Ischemic stroke in the combined territories of the septum pellucidum and the cingulate gyrus: A case report and literature review
Conclusions: Infarction in the septum pellucidum and cingulate gyrus is rare and has atypical clinical manifestations. Physical examination may not yield obvious positive signs. False-negative computed tomography findings of the head may result in misdiagnosis. Thus, it is necessary to perform whole-brain magnetic resonance imaging in time. Moreover, ScA protection should be paid attention to during surgery for anterior communicating artery aneurysm.

Acute Ischemic Stroke as a Presenting Feature of Multiple Myeloma (P3.279)
Conclusions:Stroke is a leading and preventable cause of disability in the US adult population. The majority of strokes are due to atherosclerotic vascular or cardioembolic disease. Understanding the diagnostic work up of stroke and recognizing rare etiologies like MM is important for stroke prevention. This brings to light the importance of recognizing stroke as an initial presenting feature of multiple myeloma and of multiple myeloma as an important treatable etiology of stroke.Disclosure: Dr. Chung has nothing to disclose. A Case of Transient Global Amnesia: A Review and How It May Shed Further Insight into the Neurobiology of Delusions
Conclusion In closing, our patient’s episode of TGA combined with her emotional and perceptual response lends credence to the proposal of a “fear/paranoia” circuit in the genesis of paranoid delusions—a circuit incorporating amygdala, frontal, and parietal cortices. Here, neutral or irrelevant stimuli, thoughts, and percepts come to engender fear and anxiety, while dysfunction in frontoparietal circuitry engenders inappropriate social predictions and maladaptive inferences about the intentions of others.[54] Hippocampus relays information about contextual information based on past experiences and the current situat...

Vascular Inflammation Imaging with 18F-FDG PET/CT for In-Stent Restenosis after Intracranial Stent Deployment in a Swine Model (S51.002)
Conclusions: This swine model is suitable for the testing of devices for the endovascular treatment of intracranial atherosclerosis. It can be a useful tool for the study of inflammation mechanisms of in-stent restenosis after intracranial stenting therapies.Disclosure: Dr. Shi has nothing to disclose.
