Jak2 mutation-positive polycythemia vera presenting as central retinal artery occlusion
Conclusion: Central retinal artery occlusion, a disease with a frequently devastating visual outcome, is often not an “isolated” ocular occurrence. In the absence of an obvious local trigger, a thorough work-up is always warranted, especially in younger patients, as the ocular pathology oftentimes may herald severe cerebro-cardiovascular events.

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy during fumarate monotherapy of psoriasis

Light chain amyloidosis: Experience in a tertiary hospital: 2005–2013
Conclusions Cardiac involvement is the major determinant of prognosis. Yield of involved organ biopsy is high (100% heart biopsies). Antineoplastic treatment with bortezomib and/or autologous bone marrow transplantation achieves hematological responses with improvements in organ impairment.

A Case Of Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis Syndrome In A Patient With Multiple Sclerosis On Fingolimod Therapy. (P2.206)
CONCLUSIONS:As far as we know, this syndrome has never been reported in fingolimod treated patients. EBV reactivation may have been the triggering factor of HLH in our patient. Whether fingolimod contributed to HLH, through a direct mechanism, or indirectly favoring EBV reactivation, remains unknown. A Randomized Control Trial of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) Intervention in Acute Ischemic Stroke to Improve Functional Outcome (P1.139)
Conclusions: Endogenous mobilization of bonemarrow hematopoietic stem cells by GCSF administration perhaps leads to better functional outcome. This study provides preliminary evidence of potential safety, feasibility, and tolerability of G-CSF therapy in patients with acute ischaemic stroke. Recurrent Intra-Luminal Aortic Thrombus And Ischemic Stroke In A Patient With Essential Thrombocythemia (P6.262)
CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the importance of recognizing essential thrombocythemia as an entity that can lead to devastating complications, including acute coronary syndrome and either arterial and venous thrombosis. Early recognition and effective cytoreductive therapy are cornerstones to the prevention of recurrent embolism.
