Carotid artery stenting using a 7 French Optimo balloon guide catheter combined with a distal filter
CONCLUSIONS: The 7 F Optimo is the smallest BGC to achieve CAS using a proximal protection system. The combined use of a 7 F Optimo BGC and a distal filter is effective for navigating the BGC and distal embolic protection.PMID:37322893 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231162493

Sensors, Vol. 23, Pages 5601: Source-Based EEG Neurofeedback for Sustained Motor Imagery of a Single Leg
kovic The aim of the study was to test the feasibility of visual-neurofeedback-guided motor imagery (MI) of the dominant leg, based on source analysis with real-time sLORETA derived from 44 EEG channels. Ten able-bodied participants took part in two sessions: session 1 sustained MI without feedback and session 2 sustained MI of a single leg with neurofeedback. MI was performed in 20 s on and 20 s off intervals to mimic functional magnetic resonance imaging. Neurofeedback in the form of a cortical slice presenting the motor cortex was provided from a frequency band with the strongest activity during real movements. The ...

Cerebral ischemic injury after transcatheter aortic valve replacement in patients with pure aortic regurgitation
J Zhejiang Univ Sci B. 2023 Jun 15;24(6):530-538. doi: 10.1631/jzus.B2200444.ABSTRACTConsidering the surgical risk stratification for patients with severe calcific aortic stenosis (AS), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a reliable alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) (Fan et al., 2020, 2021; Lee et al., 2021). Despite the favorable clinical benefits of TAVR, stroke remains a dreaded perioperative complication (Auffret et al., 2016; Kapadia et al., 2016; Kleiman et al., 2016; Huded et al., 2019). Ischemic overt stroke, identified in 1.4% to 4.3% of patients in TAVR clinical practice, has be...

Intra-and peritumoral hemorrhage in the meningioma of a nonagenarian due to administration of direct oral anticoagulants after mechanical thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: Peritumoral edema representing a pial blood supply might be a significant factor associated with intracranial hemorrhage due to DOAC administration in patients with meningioma. The evaluation of hemorrhagic risk due to DOACs is important not only for meningioma but also for other brain tumor cases.PMID:37292413 | PMC:PMC10246366 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_18_2023
