AbstractNear ‐infrared light (IRL) has been evaluated as a therapeutic for a variety of pathological conditions, including ischemia/reperfusion injury of the brain, which can be caused by an ischemic stroke or cardiac arrest. Strategies have focused on modulating the activity of mitochondrial electron transpor t chain (ETC) enzyme cytochromec oxidase (COX), which has copper centers that broadly absorb IRL between 700 and 1,000  nm. Serum levels of antibodies against oxidation-specific epitopes are decreased in patients with retinal vein occlusion
Conclusion: These prospective data show that antibodies against oxidation-specific epitope are lower in patients with RVO compared with control patients and support the concept that oxidative stress and inflammation play key roles in the development and subsequent complications in RVO.

Associations of plasma metal concentrations with the risks of all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality in Chinese adults
CONCLUSIONS: The study indicated that several plasma metals/metalloids were key determinants and predictors of all-cause and CVD death in the Chinese population.
