Preliminary development of a prediction model for daily stroke occurrences based on meteorological and calendar information using deep learning framework (Prediction One; Sony Network Communications Inc., Japan).
Conclusion: Our preliminary results suggested a probability of the DL-based prediction models for stroke occurrence only by meteorological and calendar factors. In the future, by synchronizing a variety of medical information among the electronic medical records and personal smartphones as well as integrating the physical activities or meteorological conditions in real time, the prediction of stroke occurrence could be performed with high accuracy, to save medical resources, to have patients care for themselves, and to perform efficient medicine. Predicting ischemic stroke after carotid artery stenting based on proximal calcification and the jellyfish sign.
CONCLUSIONS The jellyfish sign, proximal Ca, and LDL cholesterol were considered to be important predictors for new DWI lesions after CAS. These 3 factors can be easily determined during a standard clinical visit. Thus, these 3 variables-especially the jellyfish sign and proximal Ca-may be useful for reducing the ischemic stroke risk in patients with stenosis of the cervical carotid artery. Machine learning and acute stroke imaging
Conclusions ML in acute ischemic stroke imaging has already made tremendous headway. Additional applications and further integration with clinical care is inevitable. Thus, facility with these approaches is critical for the neurointerventional clinician.

Ctbrain machine learning predicts stroke thrombolysis result
Conclusions This proof-of-concept study shows that machine learning methods applied to acute stroke CT-scans potentially offers automation, and improved performance in SICH prediction following thrombolysis. Larger-scale cohorts, and incorporation of CT perfusion/angiography data, should be tested with such methods.

Rapid learning curve for Solitaire FR stent retriever therapy: evidence from roll-in and randomised patients in the SWIFT trial
Conclusions Thrombectomy in AIS using the Solitaire stent retriever device can be performed safely and effectively when used by experienced neurointerventionalists without previous experience with the device. Trial registration number The SWIFT study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT 01054560.

A Neurosurgical Stratagem: Doing the Same with Less?
We have read and much appreciated the article by Ma et  al.,1 entitled “Endoscopic Evacuation of Basal Ganglia Hematoma: Surgical Technique, Outcome and Learning Curve,” recently published in WORLD NEUROSURGERY, in which the authors describe their experience with evacuation of basal ganglia hematomas through minimally invasive surgery by an endosco pic technique. Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most common type of stroke, accounting for up to 15% of all stroke cases. ICH incidence has increased with advanced age, and its prognosis remains poor.

Randomized Pilot Trial of Intensive Management of Blood Pressure or Volume Expansion in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (IMPROVES)
CONCLUSION: This pilot study showed adequate feasibility and excellent retention to follow-up. Prediction of bleb formation in intracranial aneurysms using machine learning models based on aneurysm hemodynamics, geometry, location, and patient population
Conclusions Based on the premise that aneurysm characteristics prior to bleb formation resemble those derived from vascular reconstructions with their blebs virtually removed, machine learning models can identify aneurysms prone to bleb development with good accuracy. Pending further validation with longitudinal data, these models may prove valuable for assessing the propensity of IAs to progress to vulnerable states and potentially rupturing.
