Isoflurane and Netrin-1 combination therapy enhances angiogenesis and neurological recovery by improving the expression of HIF-1 α-Netrin-1-UNC5B/VEGF cascade to attenuate cerebral ischemia injury
In conclusion, our results suggested that ISO combined with NT-1 could promote angiogenesis, recover long-term neurobehavioral function, and attenuate cerebral ischemia injury by activating the HIF-1α-Netrin-1-UNC5B/VEGF cascade.PMID:35247371 | DOI:10.1016/j.expneurol.2022.114028

Beta-Boswellic Acid Protects Against Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury via the Protein Kinase C Epsilon/Nuclear Factor Erythroid 2-like 2/Heme Oxygenase-1 Pathway
This study demonstrates that β-BA exerts neuroprotective effects against cerebral I/R via the activation of the PRKCE/NFE2L2/HMOX1 pathway and is a potentia l therapeutic candidate for ischemic stroke.Graphical abstract

Roots of < em > Astragalus propinquus < /em > Schischkin Regulate Transmembrane Iron Transport and Ferroptosis to Improve Cerebral Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury
CONCLUSION: RAP stimulation inhibited ferroptosis by regulating the expression of the key ferroptosis factors XCT, SLC3A2, GPX4, NRF2, HO-1, and IREB2. In conclusion, RAP regulates transmembrane iron transport and ferroptosis to improve CIRI.PMID:35958925 | PMC:PMC9363172 | DOI:10.1155/2022/7410865

Antihypertension effect of astragaloside  IV during cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats
In conclusion, astragaloside IV may alleviate CIR injury partially by lowering systemic blood pressure.PMID:36331022 | DOI:10.3892/mmr.2022.12890

Icaritin inhibits neuroinflammation in a rat cerebral ischemia model by regulating microglial polarization through the GPER-ERK-NF- κB signaling pathway
CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that ICT plays roles in inhibiting the inflammatory response and achieving neuroprotection by regulating GPER-ERK-NF-κB signaling and then inhibiting microglial activation and M1 polarization while promoting M2 polarization, which provides a new therapeutic for against cerebral ischemic stroke.PMID:36447154 | DOI:10.1186/s10020-022-00573-7

Protective Effect of Erythromycin Pre-adaptation on Focal Cerebral Ischemia in Rats and its Changes in TNF- α and nNOS
CONCLUSIONS: Erythromycin preconditioning had a protective effect against focal cerebral ischemia in rats, and the best protective effect occurred for the 35-mg/kg preconditioning. The reason may be related to the fact that erythromycin preconditioning significantly upregulated nNOS and downregulated TNF-α in the brain tissue.PMID:36795522
