Dual versus triple antithrombotic therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention: the prospective multicentre WOEST 2 Study
CONCLUSIONS: Dual antithrombotic therapy is associated with a substantially lower risk of clinically relevant bleeding without a statistically significant penalty in ischaemic events.PMID:35370126 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00703

Network meta-analysis comparing blood cardioplegia, Del Nido cardioplegia and custodiol cardioplegia in minimally invasive cardiac surgery
CONCLUSION: No differences were found between blood and crystalloid cardioplegia in adult minimally invasive cardiac surgery in several clinical outcomes. The cardioplegia of choice in minimally invasive cardiac surgery remains the surgeons' decision and preference.PMID:35225070 | DOI:10.1177/02676591221075522

Atrial Fibrillation after Rheumatic Heart Valve Surgery: Incidence, Predictors, and Outcomes
CONCLUSION: This study identifies risk factors associated with the development of atrial fibrillation after rheumatic valve heart surgery. Older patients, male gender, type of surgery, preoperative AF, BMI, EF before surgery, and LA diameter are independent predictors of AF after cardiac valve surgery.PMID:35108734 | DOI:10.1055/s-0041-1740985

A novel risk score to identify the need for triple antithrombotic therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: a post hoc analysis of the RE-DUAL PCI trial
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings support the use of DAT in the majority of patients. A small subgroup of patients might benefit from TAT and we propose a novel clinical risk score to select these patients.PMID:35105533 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00165

A Comparative Study Between Different Surgical Techniques For Left Atrial Exclusion in Patients Undergoing Concomitant Cardiac Surgery
CONCLUSION: Surgical LAA excision is the most successful technique for LAA occlusion and represents a promising technique for the reduction of thromboembolic events in AF patients who undergo a concomitant cardiac surgery.PMID:34730489 | DOI:10.1532/hsf.3511
