P-017 Evaluation of radiofrequency-induced heating in an X-ray and MR-visible interventional catheter at 3.0 T
ConclusionsInitial immersion tests suggest that the worst-case scenario for RF-induced heating of our guide catheter prototype occurs at 95 cm. During the period of our tests, our prototype remained safely under the maximum permitted temperature rise of +2°C/hr of exposure. This study suggests that our guide catheter may be retained during an intra-procedural MRI without the safety risk of RF-induced device heating over time to the patient.Disclosures B. Kilbride: None. Bilateral thalamic and mesencephalic infarctions with hypopituitarism as long-term complications postradiotherapy: A case report
Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first report of bilateral thalamic and mesencephalic infarction together with hypopituitarism following radiotherapy for NPC.

Red blood cell transfusion to treat or prevent complications in sickle cell disease: an overview of Cochrane reviews.
CONCLUSIONS: This overview provides support from two high-quality Cochrane Reviews for the use of RBC transfusions in preventing stroke in children and adolescents at high risk of stroke (abnormal TCDs or SCI) and evidence that it may decrease the risk of SCI in children with abnormal TCD velocities. In addition RBC transfusions may reduce the risk of ACS and painful crisis in this population.This overview highlights the lack of high-quality evidence in adults with SCD and the number of reviews that have no evidence for the use of RBC transfusions across a spectrum of SCD complications. AbstractSusceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) is a non-invasive technique that can reveal venous structures and iron in the brain. This retrospective study evaluated SWI, relative to other imaging techniques, for determining cerebral infarct size and early-stage clinical prognosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Plasma Metal Concentrations and Incident Coronary Heart Disease in Chinese Adults: The Dongfeng-Tongji Cohort
Conclusions: Our study suggested that incident CHD was positively associated with plasma levels of titanium and arsenic, and inversely associated with selenium.
