Thrombus in transit across a patent foramen ovale in a patient with cerebrovascular accidents, pulmonary embolism, and deep vein thrombosis
We present the case of a 42-year-old woman admitted to the hospital with a third stroke. MIT Researching Alternative That Could Be Used If Hospitals Run Out Of Ventilators
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are working on an alternative treatment that can be used when a hospital runs out of ventilators. The researchers are testing whether a drug called TPA that is now used to treat blood clots in heart attack and stroke victims could also clear blood clots that form in the lungs of some people in respiratory failure. Doctors are planning to test this approach at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and at a hospital in Colorado.

Middle Cerebral Artery Velocities Are Inversely Related to Hemoglobin Levels and Acutely Drop in Response to RBC Transfusion: Implications for Stroke Screening in SCD

Even an 11% increase in hemoglobin such as that seen in the low-responder in Figure 3 could change a patient classification from high-risk to conditional TCD. Perflow Medical closes $12m round to support Stream Net thrombectomy device
Israel-based neurovascular device developer Perflow Medical said it closed a $12 million round of financing to help support its Stream dynamic neuro-thrombectomy net designed for treating acute ischemic stroke.
