AbstractThe model of centralized stroke care in the Czech Republic was created in 2010 –2012 by Ministry of Health (MH) in cooperation with professional organization—Cerebrovascular Section of the Czech Neurological Society (CSCNS). It defines priorities of stroke care, stroke centers, triage of suspected stroke patients, stroke care quality indicators, their monitoring, and repor ting. Cost and cost-effectiveness of early inpatient rehabilitation after stroke varies with initial disability: the Czech Republic perspective
The purpose of this prospective study was to determine whether the cost and cost-effectiveness of early rehabilitation after stroke are associated with the degree of initial disability. The data for cost calculations were collected by the bottom-up (micro-costing) method alongside the standard inpatient care. The total sample included 87 patients who were transferred from acute care to early rehabilitation unit of three participating stroke centers at the median time poststroke of 11 days (range 4–69 days). 6-Bromoindirubin-3 ′-Oxime (6BIO) Suppresses the mTOR Pathway, Promotes Autophagy, and Exerts Anti-aging Effects in Rodent Liver
In this study, we aimed to investigate the anti-aging effect, and molecular mechanism, of the novel anti-aging drug 6BIO on naturally aged mouse liver. Rapamycin, a well-known promising anti-aging drug that delays aging through mTOR-dependent autophagy (Zhou and Ye, 2018), was used as the positive control in the study. To our knowledge, this is the first study to demonstrate the effects of 6BIO treatment in models of natural aging.

Jade DeLucia, a 4-year-old from Iowa, is back home with her family after being struck with a case of the flu that, after a lengthy hospital stay, has left her blind.
Amanda Phillips, the girl’s mother, told reporters that Jade came down with a fever in mid-December, which she initially controlled with medication. “There wasn’t any sign that would’ve told me that something was seriously wrong with her,” Phillips told CNN.
