Endovascular treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke and tandem occlusion due to internal carotid artery dissection: A multicenter experience
CONCLUSION: AIS patients with CD-TO were mostly treated with the retrograde approach with lower number of attempts per-procedure but it offered similar recanalization rates compared with the antegrade approach. Emergent carotid artery stenting (CAS) proved to be safe for CD management but it does not influence 3-months patients' clinical outcomes.PMID:35699167 | DOI:10.1177/19714009221108673

Very early infective endocarditis after transcatheter aortic valve replacement
ConclusionA significant proportion of IE episodes following TAVR occurs within a few weeks following the procedure and are associated with dismal outcomes. Some baseline and TAVR procedural factors were associated with VE-IE, andStaphylococcus aureus and enterococci were the main causative pathogens. These results may help to select the more appropriate antibiotic prophylaxis in TAVR procedures and guide the initial antibiotic therapy in those cases with a clinical suspicion of IE.Graphical abstractVery early infective endocarditis after trans-catheter aortic valve replacement. Comparison Between Healthcare-Associated and Community-Acquired Infective Endocarditis at Tertiary Care Hospitals in Japan.
CONCLUSIONS: HAIE has different clinical characteristics and causative microorganisms, as well as worse prognosis, than CIE. Preventive strategies, and the prompt and appropriate identification of HAIE may improve the outcome of infective endocarditis. PMID: 32132310 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
