Anterior circulation large vessel occlusion outcomes in patients transferred from a peripheral primary stroke centre
DISCUSSION: Outcomes depended on stroke severity, age and vessel of occlusion. Prognosis was worse if the occlusion included M1, especially in octogenarians. Neuroprotective effect of epidermal growth factor plus growth hormone-releasing peptide-6 resembles hypothermia in experimental stroke.

Effects of different frequencies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in stroke patients with non-fluent aphasia: a randomized, sham-controlled study.
CONCLUSIONS: LF-rTMS and HF-rTMS are both beneficial to the recovery of linguistic function in patients with post-stroke non-fluent aphasia. LF-rTMS produced immediate benefits that persisted long-term, while HF-rTMS only produced long-term benefits. Argatroban plus aspirin versus aspirin in acute ischemic stroke.
CONCLUSION: Argatroban is effective and safe for the treatment of moderate AIS with similar efficacy to high-dose aspirin in the acute phase of AIS, although no additional benefit on short-term outcome was observed. Antidepressant-like effects of paeoniflorin on post-stroke depression in a rat model.

Exposure to female estrous is beneficial for male mice against transient ischemic stroke.
