Real-world treatment of large vessel occlusions: combined outcomes of directly presenting and transferred-in patients to a stroke center.
Conclusion High rates of favorable angiographic and clinical outcomes were found among AIS patients receiving ET in our single-center experience, particularly among transferred in patients. The establishment of a stroke network may help in the efficient transfer and assembly of appropriate resources for eligible patients that are transferred in for ET. Association of circulating blood HMGB1 levels with ischemic stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis demonstrates that circulating blood HMGB1 levels elevate in IS and higher HMGB1 levels may indicate a more serious condition. PMID: 30015578 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Effect of a novel designed intensive patient care program on cognitive impairment, anxiety, depression as well as relapse free survival in acute ischemic stroke patients: a randomized controlled study.
Conclusions: IPCP presents with a positive influence on improving cognitive impairment and decreasing anxiety as well as depression, while a less effect on improving RFS in AIS patients. Abbreviation: IPCP: intensive patient care program; RFS: relapse free survival; AIS: acute ischemic stroke; MRA: magnetic resonance angiography; ITT: intention-to-treat; LOCF: last observation carried forward. Flexors activity of affected upper extremity in stroke patients during different standing conditions and their relationships with clinical scales: a cross-sectional study.
Conclusions: The contraction rates of elbowflexor in the affected side increase with the difficulty in different standing postures, and it may be a good index to reflect the changes of muscle tone in postural control. PMID: 32048562 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The effect of cyclosporin a on ischemia-reperfusion damage in a mouse model of ischemic stroke.
DISCUSSION: CsA showed potential as a neuroprotective drug for the treatment of ischemic stroke patients; besides interfering with the typical NF-κB signaling pathway, the Akt pathway may also be involved in the effects of CsA. PMID: 32529968 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The relationship between the platelet to leukocyte ratio and mechanical thrombectomy outcomes in acute ischemic stroke patients.
CONCLUSION: Platelet to leukocyte ratio may be use to assess the risk of functional outcome and sICH in patients with acute anterior circulation occlusion stroke undergoing endovascular treatment in real world China. PMID: 32643590 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Changes in white matter microstructure related to non-linguistic cognitive impairment in post-stroke aphasia.
CONCLUSION: Patients with PSA have non-linguistic cognitive impairment. The integrity of the white matter microstructures can be extensively damaged. Impaired SP and MP in patients with PSA are related to UF damage. PMID: 32697169 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Tirofiban combined with heparin's effect and safety in the treatment of mild to moderate acute ischemic stroke.
Authors: Qiu T, Li C, Huang L, Xiao H, Deng X, Dai X, Fu S, Wang J, Gong Q, Luo Q, Wang M, He W, Chen M Abstract Tirofiban can be used to treat patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS), this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tirofiban combined with heparin in the treatment of mild to moderate AIS. A total of 98 patients with mild to moderate AIS randomly were divided into 2 groups within 48 h: the treatment group treated with tirofiban and, and the control group treated with aspirin + clopidogrel. The treatment group was given the same scheme as the control group after the treatment of tirofiban co...

Impact of shoulder subluxation on peripheral nerve conduction and function of hemiplegic upper extremity in stroke patients: A retrospective, matched-pair study.
Conclusions: Stroke may lead to extensive abnormal nerve conduction on the HUE, and SS may aggravate the abnormality, which may disturb the recovery of upper limb function. PMID: 33402052 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The association between White matter microstructure alterations detected by Diffusional kurtosis imaging in Neural circuit and post-stroke depression.
CONCLUSION: Our research indicated that the damage to WM microstructure in the frontal lobe, temporal lobe and the genu of corpus callosum may be related toPSD. DKI explores the microstructural changes of WM in PSD patients and may be an auxiliary diagnostic method for PSD. PMID: 33588692 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
