Abstract 203: Community Based Outpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Program Achieves Excellent Outcomes Including Return to Work, Driving, Improved Blood Pressure Control, and Other Rehabilitation Outcomes Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusions: Participants in our interdisciplinary community-based rehabilitation program demonstrated improvements in stroke knowledge, physical function, blood pressure control, and mood, while also returning to work, driving, and participation in the community. Comparative research and multi-site studies are needed.

Health-related quality of life in first-ever stroke patients
CONCLUSION: In this study, we found that age and functional status had a powerful influence on HRQOL. Comprehensive therapy programs aimed to improve HRQOL should focus on improving functional disability, particularly in older stroke patients. There is a need for long-term follow-up studies in stroke patients throughout all recovery stages to evaluate HRQOL in more detail.

Facilitating Community-Based Exercise for People With Stroke: Cross-Sectional e-Survey of Physical Therapist Practice and Perceived Needs.
CONCLUSIONS: While a high proportion of PTs provide CBEP education, education is not consistently delivered to the majority of patients post-stroke. Although a CBEP list or brochure would facilitate education regarding existing CBEPs, efforts to implement CBEPs are needed to help overcome the lack of suitable programs. Effectiveness of Adaptive Physical Activity combined with Therapeutic Patient Education in stroke survivors at 12 months: a non-randomized parallel group study.
CONCLUSION: APA-TPE is an effective intervention to maintain and improve activities of daily living, reduce falls and recourse to rehabilitation treatments at 12 months. CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: Structured physical activity programs that can be performed also at home, when combined with therapeutic education focused on benefits of physical activity, will encourage stroke survivors to continue exercising. Therefore, it fulfills an essential requirement to the maintenance of lasting health benefits and the prevention of physical and psychological deterioration. Every person is an individual: physical therapist clinical reasoning used in inpatient rehabilitation for walking assistive device prescription in patients with stroke and brain injury.
Conclusions: Results from this study revealed complexity in the clinical reasoning process used in physical therapy practice to determine the best walking assistive device for patients with stroke and brain injury during inpatient rehabilitation. Information from this study can inform post-acute physical therapy practice and education, and may reduce device abandonment. Barriers and Facilitators to Aerobic Exercise Implementation in Stroke Rehabilitation: A Scoping Review
Conclusions: Some of the identified barriers could be overcome with modeling and training in best practice, while others may require interventions targeting organizational environment and leadership. Future knowledge translation interventions should target the identified barriers and facilitators to implementing aerobic exercise. How effective and safe are current interventions for sexual dysfunction following stroke? A Cochrane Review summary with commentary
CONCLUSIONS: The effectiveness of current rehabilitation interventions for SD following stroke remains uncertain due to the low quality of evidence and limited sample size.
