Preventable Cases of Oral Anticoagulant-Induced Bleeding: Data From the Spontaneous Reporting System
Conclusion: Our findings describe the most reported risk factors for preventability of oral anticoagulant-induced bleedings. These factors may be useful for targeting interventions to improve pharmacovigilance activities in our regional territory and to reduce the burden of medication errors and inappropriate prescription. Introduction Oral anticoagulant therapy is widely used for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation, or for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (Raj et al., 1994; Monaco et al., 2017). Oral anticoagulants can be di...

Lower Transaortic Flow Rate Is Associated With Increased Mortality in Aortic Valve Stenosis
Conclusions In patients with AS without known cardiovascular disease or diabetes, low transaortic FR was independently associated with higher rates of cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. (An Investigational Drug on Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Aortic Stenosis (Narrowing of the Major Blood Vessel of the Heart) (MK-0653A-043 AM4); NCT00092677)

Assessing Optimal Blood Pressure in Patients with Asymptomatic Aortic Valve Stenosis: The SEAS Study.
CONCLUSIONS: -Optimal BP seems to be systolic 130-139 mmHg and diastolic 70-90 mmHg in these patients with asymptomatic AS and no manifest atherosclerotic disease or diabetes. Clinical Trial Registration-http://www.clinicaltrials.gov; NCT00092677. PMID: 27486164 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Stroke in Patients With Aortic Stenosis: The Simvastatin and Ezetimibe in Aortic Stenosis Study Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In patients with aortic stenosis not prescribed oral anticoagulation, atrial fibrillation, AVR with concomitant coronary artery bypass grafting, and CHA2DS2-VASc score were the major predictors of stroke. Incident stroke was strongly associated with mortality. Clinical Trial Registration— URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00092677.
