Epidemiology and Economic Burden of Cardiovascular Disease in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Spain: A Systematic Review
ConclusionsThe burden of CVD among patients with T2DM, combined with the elevated costs of care, highlights the importance of early prevention as part of integrated management of the disease to improve clinical and economic outcomes.

A Multinational Real-World Study on the Clinical Characteristics of Patients with Type  2 Diabetes Initiating Dapagliflozin in Southern Europe
ConclusionsSignificant differences were seen among patients initiating dapagliflozin in southern Europe. Our results suggest that dapagliflozin was being initiated at different stages of the disease according to the country and prescribing settings. Such geographic heterogeneity may have an impact upon effectiveness of dapagliflozin on glucose lowering, as well as cardiovascular and renal outcomes.

Performance of the RACE Score for the Prehospital Identification of Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke in a Suburban/Rural EMS Service.
CONCLUSION: The RACE scale demonstrated acceptable discrimination, yet the sensitivity and positive predictive value were lower in this cohort of EMS professionals in the U.S. than in the original validation study conducted in Spain. Patient Preferences for Attributes of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Medications in Germany and Spain: An Online Discrete-Choice Experiment Survey
ConclusionsRespondents in Germany and Spain were willing to trade efficacy for improvements in side effects and mode of administration. Given the variety of T2DM medications currently available, the results suggest that careful discussion about patient preferences could help improve patient satisfaction with T2DM treatment.
