Service evaluation of lifestyle integrated functional exercise program for falls prevention in early supported discharge stroke patients
Purpose: Stroke survivors are at greater risk of falling both as inpatients and through their post stroke life (Weerddesteyn et al., 2008). It is suggested that research is needed to specify effective behavioural approaches to increase exercise post stroke (Prior and Suskin, 2018). A falls programs that incorporates behaviour change is the Life style integrated functional exercise (LiFE) program for falls prevention (Clemson et al., 2012). The service evaluation was a two site study to evaluate the LiFE programme to prevent falls a behaviour change approach compared to conventional Physiotherapy in Early Supported.

A multifaceted continuing professional development intervention to move stroke rehabilitation guidelines into professional practice: A feasibility study.
Conclusion: This study demonstrated the feasibility of assessing the impact of a CPD intervention in stroke rehabilitation uptake and informed the design of a research program aimed at increasing the use of stroke evidence-based rehabilitation interventions. Beliefs of rehabilitation professionals towards guided self-rehabilitation contracts for post stroke hemiparesis.
Conclusions The strategy of asking patients to perform exercises alone, in the practice or at home, is still not accepted by a large proportion of physical therapy professionals as compared with students or with physicians. Most therapists still see a <5-h weekly duration of exercise as sufficient after stroke.
