Stroke knowledge and awareness in the general public is important to improve stroke prevention and ensure prompt response to disease onset. Chronic complications and quality of life of patients living with sickle cell disease and receiving care in three hospitals in Cameroon: a cross-sectional study
ConclusionsIn this population of patients living with SCD, chronic complications are frequent and their QOL is consequently poor. Our results highlight the need for national guidelines for SCD control, which should include new-born screening programs and strategies to prevent chronic complications.

Prevalence and determinants of excessive daytime sleepiness in hypertensive patients: a cross-sectional study in Douala, Cameroon
Conclusions A significant proportion of hypertensive patients suffer from EDS and present a high risk of sleep apnoea. Preventive measures targeted on weight loss, type 2 diabetes and snoring should be considered among these patients.

Neurological disorders in the emergency centre of the Douala General Hospital, Cameroon: A cross-sectional study
Conclusion Neurological disorders are common in the emergency centre of the DGH. Aetiologies are diverse and in-hospital mortality is high. This highlights the need to organize neurologist calls at the EC and/or to improve the human resources capacity through regular training and evaluation.
