24-hour on-duty shifts during the training of neurology residents in Spain: changes in the last decade
DISCUSSION: Residents' guidance during the 24-hour neurology on-duty shifts follows the path set by the training program and the national commission. However, there are still some differences that go beyond purely healthcare aspects. The future national program could establish new guidelines that help us achieve less heterogeneity, in order to offer the same training in the assessment of acute neurological patients.PMID:36285447 | DOI:10.33588/rn.7509.2022096

Influenza Vaccination and Risk of Ischemic Stroke: A Population-Based Case-Control Study
DISCUSSION: Results are compatible with a moderate protective effect of influenza vaccine on IS appearing early after vaccination. The finding that a reduced risk was also observed in pre-epidemic periods suggests that either the "protection" is not totally linked to prevention of influenza infection, or it may be partly explained by unmeasured confounding factors.PMID:36240087 | DOI:10.1212/WNL.0000000000201123

Impact of heart failure on the clinical profile and outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation treated with rivaroxaban. Data from the EMIR study
CONCLUSIONS: Among AF patients anticoagulated with rivaroxaban, HF patients had a worse clinical profile and a higher MACE risk and cardiovascular mortality. HF was independently associated with the development of MACE, but not with thromboembolic events or major bleeding.PMID:36200548 | DOI:10.5603/CJ.a2022.0091
