Development of a machine learning-based real-time location system to streamline acute endovascular intervention in acute stroke: a proof-of-concept study
Conclusions ML-based RTLS technology using WiFi fingerprinting has the potential to streamline delivery of acute stroke endovascular intervention by efficiently tracking patient and staff movement during stroke calls.

Health risk factors in Australian Stroke Survivors: A latent class analysis
CONCLUSIONS: We identified two distinct health risk factor groups in our population. SO WHAT?: Future interventions may benefit from targeting the specific needs and requirements of people who have experienced stroke based on their distinct risk group. Alcohol consumption in post stroke populations requires further attention. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.PMID:36799087 | DOI:10.1002/hpja.706

Mirror therapy for improving lower limb motor function and mobility after stroke: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Each year there are approximately 15 million strokes worldwide, making stroke one of the major causes of high level disability in the home and in the community [1]. In the USA, UK and Australia stroke is found to be a principle source of burden of care and of long term disability and it has been highlighted that these factors are accentuated and maintained by impaired walking ability [2 –4]. The rehabilitation of impaired lower limb functioning post stroke is a major issue and this is demonstrated by the fact that approximately 30% of patients with chronic stroke have persistent difficulties in independent ambulation [5].

Previous experience and walking capacity predict community outings after stroke: An observational study.
CONCLUSION: The strongest predictors of community participation were the number of outings early post-inpatient rehabilitation, walking capacity, and age. The only significant modifiable predictor was walking capacity. PMID: 29902102 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Maximising data value and avoiding data waste: a validation study in stroke research.
CONCLUSION: We report the first linkage of data from an Australian national clinical quality disease registry with routinely collected data from several national and state government health datasets. Data linkage enriches the clinical registry dataset and provides additional information beyond that for the acute care setting and quality of life at follow-up, allowing clinical outcomes for people with stroke (mortality and hospital contacts) to be more comprehensively assessed.
