High Contrast Detection of Carotid Neothrombus with Strong Near-Infrared Absorption Selenium Nanosphere Enhanced Photoacoustic Imaging
CONCLUSION: The superior PA signal of Se@PPy nanomaterials can identify the extent of atherosclerotic carotid lesions, demonstrating the feasibility of PA imaging technology in diagnosing carotid thrombosis lesion formation. This study demonstrates nanocomposites and PA techniques for imaging and diagnosing carotid thrombosis in vivo.PMID:37520300 | PMC:PMC10377622 | DOI:10.2147/IJN.S404743

The combination of Astragalus membranaceus and ligustrazine mitigates cerebral ischemia ‐reperfusion injury via regulating NR2B‐ERK/CREB signaling
ConclusionsThe overall results thus suggest that the Ast+Lig combination conferred neuroprotective properties against cerebral I/R injury via regulation of the NR2B-ERK/CREB signaling pathway.

Effects of the New Thrombolytic Compound LT3001 on Acute Brain Tissue Damage After Focal Embolic Stroke in Rats
In this study, we tested the effects of LT3001 as a potential alternative thrombolytic in focal embolic ischemic stroke rat model. Stroked rats received intravenous injection of 10  mg/kg LT3001 or tPA at 1.5, 3, or 4.5 h after stroke, respectively, and the outcomes were measured at different time points after stroke by performing multi-parametric MRI, 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining, and modified neurological severity score. Lastly, we assessed the effect of LT3001 on the tPA activity in vitro, the international normalized ratio (INR), and the serum levels of active tPA and plasminogen activator inhib...

Neutrophil Recruitment in Arterial Thrombus and Characteristics of Stroke Patients with Neutrophil-Rich Thrombus
CONCLUSION: Neutrophils were recruited and increased in arterial thrombosis in a time-dependent manner; however, they were not associated with the growth of formed thrombi. Neutrophil fractions in the thrombi of stroke patients appeared to be associated with atrial fibrillation and erythrocyte fraction.PMID:36303310 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.0328
