Recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rt-PA) effectively restores neurological function and improves prognosis in acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: Compared with conventional pharmacological regimens, additional rt-PA intravenous thrombolytic therapy improves the clinical outcome of patients with acute ischemic stroke, promotes neurological recovery, and enhances patient prognosis without increasing the risk of patient-related adverse events.PMID:37303683 | PMC:PMC10251022

An elderly case with late carotid stent thrombosis: possible role of antiphospholipid antibodies
The case study speculates that the antiphospholipid antibodies acquired during the follow-up period of carotid artery stenting may cause late stent thrombosis that is resistant to direct oral anticoagulants. A 73-year-old man was hospitalized with complaints of weakness in the right lower extremity. Safety and Efficacy of Ticagrelor versus Clopidogrel in East Asian Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Treated with Dual Antiplatelet Therapy: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
Conclusion: Ticagrelor increased the risk of bleeding and did not increase treatment efficacy compared to that of clopidogrel in the East Asian population who have ACS treated with PCI.

A man in his 80 ’s presented to our hospital's emergency department with left hip pain after falling while transferring from a wheelchair on a visit day. He had been taking clopidogrel for> 10 years after atherothrombotic stroke and apixaban 2.5 mg b.i.d. for 2 years since he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis. The patient had no coagulation abnormalities when he started apixaban therapy and had never experienced bleeding events. His medical history included cervical spondylosis surgery, right femoral neck fracture, hypertension, and benign prostatic hypertrophy.

CYP2C9 Polymorphisms and the Risk of Cardiovascular Events in Patients Treated with Clopidogrel: Combined Data from the POPular Genetics and POPular AGE Trials
ConclusionsCarriers of aCYP2C9 *2 or *3 LoF allele presenting with acute coronary syndrome and treated with clopidogrel did not have an increased risk for thrombotic events compared with noncarriers. Given the limited number of poor metabolizers, no firm conclusions could be drawn with regard to the thrombotic risk for patients carrying two CYP2C9 LoF alleles.
