Conclusion: These findings limit the possible roles of gene transcriptional changes in previously reported age-dependent pro-arrhythmic electrophysiologial changes observed in Pgc-1β-/- atria to an altered Ca2+-ATPase (Atp2a2) expression. This directly parallels previously reported arrhythmic mechanism associated with p21-activated kinase type 1 deficiency. Cardiovascular diseases in patients 65 years and younger with non-cardiogenic stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Aetiologically heterogeneous stroke and cardiogenic stroke are the most commonly observed among young stroke patients. Cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation are the most common sources of cerebral embolism in young patients with cardiogenic stroke. Simultaneous onset of myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke in a patient with atrial fibrillation: Multiple territory injury revealed on angiography and magnetic resonance
An 84-year-old man with a history of hypertension and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) who received no anticoagulant drugs experienced acute chest pain and transient loss of consciousness. He was transferred to our emergency room. His initial electrocardiogram showed sinus rhythm with ST-segment elevation in the I, aVL, and V1–V6 leads.
