Endovascular Thrombectomy in Wake-Up Stroke and Stroke with Unknown Symptom Onset INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Mechanical thrombectomy in selected patients with wake-up stroke allows a good functional outcome comparable with that of controls. Outcome after mechanical thrombectomy in daytime-unwitnessed stroke seems to be inferior compared with that in controls. Advanced imaging modalities may increase the frequency of good functional outcome in both patients with wake-up stroke and daytime-unwitnessed stroke.

COVID-19 Severity and Stroke: Correlation of Imaging and Laboratory Markers ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with stroke hospitalized with severe COVID-19 are characterized by higher inflammatory, coagulopathy, and tissue-damage biomarkers, supporting proposed pathogenic mechanisms of hyperinflammation activating a prothrombotic state. Cautious balancing of thrombosis and the risk of hemorrhagic transformation is warranted when considering anticoagulation.

Abstract Children are particularly at risk for stroke in the neonatal period. Neonatal hemorrhagic stroke is rarer than ischemic stroke. The incidence is 40.7/100 000 live births. Hemorrhagic stroke is caused by a disruption in venous drainage usually due to local thrombosis. As a result of the nonspecific clinical symptoms in this age group, diagnosis is usually made too late. The only relatively specific symptom is a cerebral seizure during the first week of life. Stroke Mimics in the Acute Setting: Role of Multimodal CT Protocol ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Multimodal CT demonstrated low sensitivity but high specificity in the diagnosis of stroke mimics in the acute setting.
