Use of Cangrelor in Cervical and Intracranial Stenting for the Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke: A "Real Life" Single-Center Experience INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Although larger, multicentric randomized studies are strongly warranted, our results support the hypothesis of a possible role of cangrelor as a valuable therapeutic option in the management of platelet inhibition in acute ischemic stroke procedures after intra- or extracranial stent placement.

Angiographic early hyperemia in the middle cerebral artery territory after thrombectomy is associated with favorable clinical outcome in anterior circulation stroke
ConclusionResults revealed that the presence of EH is associated with better clinical outcome at 90 days, but not associated with increased hemorrhagic complication. These findings with clinically relevant implications require further validation.Key Points•Angiographic cortical hyperemia is a common finding immediately after endovascular thrombectomy.•Presence of cortical hyperemia is an independent prognostic factor for good clinical outcome.•Hemorrhagic complication is not associated with cortical hyperemia.

Collateral and permeability imaging derived from dynamic contrast material-enhanced MR angiography in prediction of PH 2 hemorrhagic transformation after acute ischemic stroke: a pilot study
ConclusionIndividual-based prediction of PH 2 hemorrhagic transformation in patients with acute ischemic stroke may be possible with multiphase collateral map and permeability imaging derived from dynamic contrast material-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography.

Acute isolated posterior cerebral artery stroke treated with mechanical thrombectomy: A single-center experience and review of the literature
CONCLUSION: The results of our series and systematic review indicate MT as a potentially safe and effective treatment modality for acute PCA stroke. These results also indicate that patient selection and assessment may be the key in obtaining favorable outcomes.PMID:35001703 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211070949

Survival and functional outcome following endovascular thrombectomy for anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke caused by large vessel occlusion in Sweden 2017-2019 < em > - < /em > a nationwide, prospective, observational study
CONCLUSIONS: EVT patients from our large real-world national dataset differed from RCT patients in several baseline factors including distribution of vascular occlusion site. However, the overall outcome of EVT in our Swedish cohort appeared to well match the pivotal trial findings.PMID:35044270 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211073019

Automated detection and segmentation of intracranial hemorrhage suspect hyperdensities in non-contrast-enhanced CT scans of acute stroke patients
ConclusionThe AI-based algorithm reliably assessed the presence or absence of acute ICHs in this dataset and quantified IPH volumes precisely.Key Points•Artificial intelligence (AI) is able to detect hyperdense volumes on brain CTs reliably.•Sensitivity and specificity are highest for the detection of intraparenchymal hemorrhages.•Interreader reliability for hemorrhage detection shows strong agreement for AI and human readers.

Dual antiplatelet use in the management of COVID-19 associated acute ischemic stroke reocclusion
CONCLUSION: COVID-19 AIS may be associated with a hypercoagulable state which risks malignant reocclusion complicating MT. We found antithrombotic treatment periprocedural cangrelor with or without argatroban transitioned to oral aspirin with ticagrelor to be a viable method for management of these patients.PMID:35549746 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221097484
