E-030 Incidence and risk factors for new seizure after ischemic stroke in a single institution series
DiscussionThe literature on new onset seizures after stroke describes a range of incidences and risk factors, as there is variation in the studied populations. Here we report the incidence of post-stroke seizures in all patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke in a 3-year period. The most significant predictor was hemorrhagic transformation, and this was driven by IPH.Disclosures K. Carroll: None. E. Federico: None. I. Stafstrom: None. E. Skinner: None. M. Maraghe: None. M. Noninfectious complications of acute stroke and their impact on hospital mortality in patients admitted to a stroke unit in Warsaw from 1995 to 2015
Conclusions Over the last two decades Polish urban stroke units may have achieved a significant reduction of the occurrence of some noninfectious complications (i.e. MI, exacerbated CHF and DVT). However, the list of conditions associated with stroke unit mortality includes not only MI and exacerbated CHF but also PE, gastrointestinal bleeding and recurrent stroke.

Added Benefit of Stent Retriever Technology for Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Pooled Analysis of the NINDS tPA, SWIFT, and STAR Trials
CONCLUSION: Patients with acute ischemic stroke who received IV tPA or revascularization therapies had a higher likelihood of achieving independence at 3 months. Stent retriever technology combined with tPA was associated with the greatest benefit compared with placebo, tPA alone, or endovascular therapy alone. Implementing the SNIS recommendations for neurointerventional emergent care in the setting of COVID-19: impact on stroke metrics and patient outcomes
Conclusions The COVID-19 pandemic did not significantly affect stroke admission volume or acute stroke treatment utilization. Outcomes were not affected by implementing SNIS guidelines. Although there was a statistical increase in time to groin puncture for ET, it was not clinically meaningful. These results suggest hospitals managing patients efficiently can implement practices in response to COVID-19 without impacting outcomes.

Aetiology, secondary prevention strategies and outcomes of ischaemic stroke despite oral anticoagulant therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation
Conclusions Stroke despite anticoagulation comprises heterogeneous aetiologies and cardioembolism despite sufficient anticoagulation is most common. While DOAC were associated with better outcomes than VKA, adding antiplatelets was linked to worse outcomes in these high-risk patients. Our findings indicate that individualised and novel preventive strategies beyond the currently available anticoagulants are needed. Trial registration number ISRCTN48292829.

Risk of stroke in multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optic spectrum disorder: a Nationwide cohort study in South Korea
Conclusions The risk of stroke is increased in patients with MS and NMOSD and seemed comparable between the two conditions. This is the first study that estimates the risk of stroke in patients with MS and NMOSD within the same population.

Endovascular Treatment and the Outcomes of Atherosclerotic Intracranial Stenosis in Patients With Hyperacute Stroke
CONCLUSION: Emergent intracranial angioplasty with or without stenting is safe and feasible and yields a high rate of revascularization and favorable outcome in patients with hyperacute stroke and underlying ICAS. Patients with underlying ICAS have less severe infarctions at presentation and higher successful revascularization after multimodal endovascular therapy in the setting of hyperacute stroke compared with those with other stroke subtypes. E-064 single center analysis of the safety and efficacy of a streamlined stroke admission paradigm
ConclusionWe sought to explore the safety and efficacy of the FastTrack protocol in reducing door to CT time as a measure of stroke team response while maintaining good patient care. We found that an expedited route through the ED may save valuable minutes in stroke assessment, treatment and intervention. Further studies are needed to establish the role of faster admission protocols on suspected strokes.DisclosuresT. Sabharwal: None. K. Sivakumar: None. K. Arcot: None. H. Dababneh: None. R. Association of Hyperthyroidism and Thyroid Autoantibodies with Moyamoya Disease and Its Stroke Event: A Population-based Case-control Study and Meta-analysis.
Authors: Ahn JH, Jeon JP, Kim JE, Ha EJ, Cho WS, Park YJ, Cho NH, Choi HS, Kang HS, Son YJ, Bang JS, Oh CW Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the specific thyroid condition and thyroid autoantibodies in adult moyamoya disease (MMD) according to clinical presentation (ischemia vs. hemorrhage stroke). In addition, a meta-analysis was performed to reveal the association between adult MMD and elevated thyroid function, or autoantibodies. Prospectively collected data on 169 consecutive patients with MMD at a single institution were analyzed. Community-based controls matched for age and sex were selected f...
