Seasonal variation in the incidence of primary intracerebral hemorrhage: a 16-year nationwide analysis
ConclusionUnlike AIS, ICH incidence is consistently higher in colder quarters, underscoring the need for evaluation and prevention of factors driving seasonal variations in ICH incidence.

Factors associated with stroke after COVID-19 vaccination: a statewide analysis
ConclusionConcurrent COVID-19 infection had the strongest association with early ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination. Although not all determinants of stroke, particularly comorbidities, were considered in this analysis, the Ad26.COV2.S vaccine was associated with a higher risk of early post-vaccination ischemic stroke than BNT162b2.

Benefits and risks of antiplatelet therapy for moyamoya disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionCurrent evidence showed that APT was associated with a reduced risk of hemorrhagic stroke in MMD patients but did not reduce the risk of ischemic stroke or increase the proportion of independent patients. There was insufficient evidence about the benefit of APT on survival and postoperative bypass patency after surgical revascularization. However, the results should be interpreted cautiously because of the limited number of studies.Systematic review registrationhttps://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/.

Preoperative systemic immune-inflammation index may predict prolonged mechanical ventilation in patients with spontaneous basal ganglia intracerebral hemorrhage undergoing surgical operation
ConclusionPreoperative SII may predict PMV in patients with spontaneous basal ganglia ICH undergoing a surgical operation.

Association between hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio and hospital mortality in patients with non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage
ConclusionThere was a non-linear connection between the baseline HRR level and in-hospital mortality. A low level of HRR could increase the risk of death in participants with non-traumatic SAH.

Stroke severity mediates the effect of socioeconomic disadvantage on poor outcomes among patients with intracerebral hemorrhage
ConclusionCSVD contributed to poor functional outcome independent of socioeconomic deprivation, while stroke severity mediated the effects of deprivation. Improving awareness and trust among disadvantaged communities may reduce admission stroke severity and improve outcomes.

Delirium detection using wearable sensors and machine learning in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage
ConclusionsWe found that actigraphy in conjunction with machine learning models improves clinical detection of delirium in patients with stroke, thus paving the way to make actigraph-assisted predictions clinically actionable.

Predictive effect of the decline in CD4+ T cell levels in blood on infection in patients with severe hemorrhagic stroke and mechanism
ConclusionReduced blood CD4+ T-cell counts among patients who had severe hemorrhagic stroke increased the risk of early infection. CSF IL-6 and IL-8 may be involved in inducing the migration of CD4+ T cells into the CSF and decreasing blood CD4+ T-cell levels.

The role of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein serum levels in the prognosis for patients with stroke: a meta-analysis
ConclusionHs-CRP levels are strongly associated with mortality, risk of stroke recurrence and poor prognosis in stroke patients. Therefore, hs-CRP levels may contribute to the prognosis prediction of these patients.

A brain CT-based approach for predicting and analyzing stroke-associated pneumonia from intracerebral hemorrhage
DiscussionOur findings suggest that our method is effective in classifying the development of pneumonia based on brain CT scans. Furthermore, we identified distinct characteristics, such as volume and distribution, of ICH in four different types of SAP.

Effects of community ambulation training with 3D-printed ankle –foot orthosis on gait and functional improvements: a case series of three stroke survivors
IntroductionMany of the patients using ankle–foot orthoses (AFOs) experience poor fit, pain, discomfort, dislike of the aesthetics of the device, and excessive range of motion restrictions, which diminish the use of AFOs. Although 3D-printed ankle–foot orthoses (3D-AFOs) affect patient satisfaction and overall gait functions such as ankle moment, joint range of motion (ROM), and temporal-spatial parameters, the material properties and manufacturing process of 3D-AFOs are still diverse; the clinical effects of community ambulation using 3D-AFOs and satisfaction in patients with stroke are poorly understood.Case descript...

Functional and technical outcomes in acute ischemic stroke patients with hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign treated with endovascular thrombectomy
ConclusionPatients with HMCAS treated with EVT do not have a worse outcome at 3  months compared with no-HMCAS patients. Patients with HMCAS required a greater number of thrombus passes and longer procedure times.

Stroke burden and attributable risk factors in China, 1990 –2019
ConclusionThis study reinforced the findings of an increased stroke burden in China. Precise stroke prevention strategies are needed to reduce the disease burden of stroke.

The efficacy of stereotactic minimally invasive thrombolysis at different catheter positions in the treatment of small- and medium-volume basal ganglia hemorrhage (SMITDCP I): a randomized, controlled, and blinded endpoint phase 1 trial
ConclusionStereotactic minimally invasive puncture combined with urokinase for the treatment of small- and medium-volume hemorrhage in the basal ganglia, including catheterization through the long axis of the hematoma, led to significantly better drainage effects and fewer complications. However, there was no significant difference in short-term NIHSS scores between the two types of catheterization.

Effects of silent brain infarction on the hemorrhagic transformation and prognosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke after intravenous thrombolysis
ConclusionWe found that SBI was no effect for HT after thrombolysis in ischemic stroke patients, and no effect on favorable functional outcome at 3 months. Nevertheless, SBI remained an independent risk factor for non-excellent functional outcomes at 3 months.
