Efficacy and Safety of Tirofiban in Clinical Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke
ConclusionOur trial supports that tirofiban was safe and effective and might be a remedial treatment for patients with AIS who did not receive recanalization treatments.Clinical Trial Registrationhttp://www.chictr.org.cn/, identifier: ChiCTR2000031297.

Postoperative occlusion degree after flow-diverter placement with adjunctive coiling: analysis of complications
Conclusions Although postoperative complete occlusion with a PED and adjunctive coiling can increase the rate of aneurysm occlusion, this approach may also increase the risk of ischemic stroke and lead to poor postoperative functional outcomes.

Predictors of mortality in acute ischemic stroke treated with endovascular thrombectomy despite successful reperfusion: subgroup analysis of a multicentre randomised clinical trial
Conclusions Symptomatic ICH and high post-thrombectomy NIHSS score are strong predictor of 90-day mortality in acute ischaemic stroke treated with mechanical thrombectomy despite successful reperfusion, as well as high NIHSS score and high glucose level at hospital arrival. However, further studies need to be performed to confirm the association between smoking and mortality.

Mechanical Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke in Patients With Cardiac Myxoma: A Case Series and Pooled Analysis
ConclusionsOur findings suggest that MT is not only an effective technique but also a safe option for CM-AIS patients with large vessel occlusion. MT has several advantages for this population, which include a high recanalization rate, low bleeding risk, and the ability to evaluate the source of emboli and the etiology of stroke.

Time to Endovascular Reperfusion and Outcome in Acute Ischemic Stroke
ConclusionAmong patients with acute ischemic stroke in routine clinical practice, shorter time to reperfusion was associated with better outcome after endovascular therapy. Standardized workflows and training in endovascular treatment techniques should be promoted nationally to reduce in-hospital delays.

Day 1 neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) predicts stroke outcome after intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy
ConclusionsNLR is a readily available biomarker that can predict AIS outcome after reperfusion treatment and day 1 NLR is even better than admission NLR.

Intravenous thrombolysis with 0.65 mg/kg r-tPA may be optimal for Chinese mild-to-moderate stroke
ConclusionOur study presented the first evidence that intravenous thrombolysis with 0.65 mg/kg r-tPA may be optimal for Chinese mild-to-moderate stroke.Registrationhttps://www.clinicaltrials.gov, identifier: NCT 02854592.

Associations between computed tomography markers of cerebral small vessel disease and hemorrhagic transformation after intravenous thrombolysis in acute ischemic stroke patients
ConclusionIn patients with acute ischemic stroke, severe leukoaraiosis, brain atrophy and total CSVD burden may be risk factors for HT after IVT. These findings may help improve efforts to mitigate or even prevent HT in vulnerable patients.

Gender heterogeneity in the influencing factors for cerebral microbleeds in acute ischemic stroke patients
CONCLUSION: There are gender differences in the influencing factors for CMBs in AIS patients. Age, old LIs, and blood glucose are independent risk or protective factors for comorbid CMBs in female AIS patients, although they are not associated with the risk of developing CMBs in male AIS patients.PMID:37259500 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2023.2219581

C-Reactive Protein Gene Contributes to the Genetic Susceptibility of Hemorrhagic Stroke in Men: a Case-Control Study in Chinese Han Population
AbstractHigh-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) is an inflammatory marker for the prediction and prognosis of ischemic stroke but there is an absence of evidence for cerebral hemorrhagic events. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of elevated plasma hsCRP andCRP genetic variants on hemorrhagic stroke (HS). Two hundred thirty-six inpatients with HS and 993 age-matched controls from a community-based population were included in a case-control study and four tagging single nucleotide polymorphsims (tagSNPs) atCRP were genotyped. The association of hsCRP elevation andCRP variants with HS was evaluated by mu...

Association between incidence of fatal intracerebral hemorrhagic stroke and fine particulate air pollution
ConclusionsFatal ICH incidence was associated with PM2.5 exposure. Our results also suggested that diabetes may increase the risk for ICH incidence in relation to PM2.5.

A Non-linear Association Between Total Small Vessel Disease Score and Hemorrhagic Transformation After Ischemic Stroke With Atrial Fibrillation and/or Rheumatic Heart Disease
Background: Previous studies have investigated the association between a single marker of cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) and hemorrhagic transformation (HT). However, the effect of the total SVD burden on HT has not been evaluated yet. We aimed to investigate the association between the total SVD score and HT in ischemic stroke patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and/or rheumatic heart disease (RHD). Methods: Ischemic stroke patients with AF and/or RHD admitted within 7 days after onset were enrolled at two hospitals in China. The total SVD score was based on the presence of lacunes, extensive white matter hyperin...
