Ultrasensitive Troponin I and Incident Cardiovascular Disease
CONCLUSIONS: Ultrasensitive cTnI is an independent marker of CVD events in the primary prevention setting.PMID:36325900 | DOI:10.1161/ATVBAHA.122.317961

Mild-to-Moderate Kidney Dysfunction and Cardiovascular Disease: Observational and Mendelian Randomization Analyses
CONCLUSIONS: In people without manifest cardiovascular disease or diabetes, mild-to-moderate kidney dysfunction is causally related to risk of CHD, highlighting the potential value of preventive approaches that preserve and modulate kidney function.PMID:36314129 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.060700

Rapid lipid-laden plaque identification in intravascular optical coherence tomography imaging based on time-series deep learning
ConclusionsThese encouraging results suggest that this method will allow for high throughput video-rate atherosclerotic plaque assessment through automated tissue characterization for in vivo imaging by providing faster screening to assist in guided decision making during percutaneous coronary interventions.PMID:36307914 | DOI:10.1117/1.JBO.27.10.106006

The relationship between lipoprotein(a) and risk of cardiovascular disease: a Mendelian randomization analysis
CONCLUSION: This MR study suggested a causal relationship between Lp(a) and CHD, AA, and ISL, but not associated with AF, HF, IS, LIS, ISS, HBP, or PE. Our work further verifies the association between Lp(a) and various CVD, resulting in improved Lp(a) management and a reduction in the prevalence of CVD.PMID:36303257 | DOI:10.1186/s40001-022-00825-6

Causal Relationships of Excessive Daytime Napping with Atherosclerosis and Cardiovascular Diseases: A Mendelian Randomization Study
CONCLUSION: Habitual daytime napping is causally associated with an increased risk of incident CVD primarily via the development of coronary atherosclerosis. An average napping duration of more than 60 minutes is associated with an elevated risk of CVD in all participants.PMID:36302037 | DOI:10.1093/sleep/zsac257

Pristane attenuates atherosclerosis in Apoe < sup > -/- < /sup > mice via IL-4-secreting regulatory plasma cell-mediated M2 macrophage polarization
Biomed Pharmacother. 2022 Nov;155:113750. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2022.113750. Epub 2022 Sep 29.ABSTRACTAtherosclerosis, an inflammatory progressive vascular disease, causes heart disease and stroke worldwide. B cells with immune suppressive functions have been implicated in autoimmune, inflammatory, and cardiovascular diseases. However, the precise role of regulatory B cells and the interaction with macrophages in atherosclerosis remains undefined. In our study, eight-week-old female apolipoprotein E null (Apoe-/-) mice were treated with a single dose of vehicle or pristane and then placed on an atherogenic diet for 12 week...

Secondhand Smoke Exposure in Childhood and Mortality from Coronary Heart Disease in Adulthood: the Japan Collaborative Cohort Study for Evaluation of Cancer Risk
CONCLUSIONS: Secondhand smoke exposure in childhood was associated with an increased risk of CHD mortality in adulthood, primarily in middle-aged men and non-current smokers.PMID:36261366 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63857

Elevated Levels of Serum Alkaline Phosphatase are Associated with Increased Risk of Cardiovascular Disease: A Prospective Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: Higher ALP levels, even within the normal range, were significantly associated with increased risks of CVD, in a dose-dependent manner. These findings suggested that regular monitoring of ALP levels may help in improving the early identification of the population at higher CVD risk.PMID:36261365 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63646
