Perioperative Red Blood Cell Transfusion Is Associated With Adverse Cardiovascular Outcomes in Heart Valve Surgery
CONCLUSIONS: In the analysis of the national cohort, perioperative RBC transfusion during heart valve surgery was associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes correlated with the volume of RBC transfusion.PMID:36730895 | DOI:10.1213/ANE.0000000000006245

Association between Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Level and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Korean Adults: A Nationwide Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: We confirmed the incidence of CVD was increased in higher LDL-C range. The risk of CVD increased from ≥70 mg/dL of LDL-C in very high-risk and high-risk groups, and from ≥130 mg/dL of LDL-C in moderate-risk and low-risk groups in Korean adults.PMID:36727164 | DOI:10.4093/dmj.2021.0320

Cardiovascular Outcomes according to Comorbidities and Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol in Korean People with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
CONCLUSION: For primary prevention of CVD in Korean adults with T2DM, it can be helpful to lower LDL-C targets when there are chronic kidney disease, HT, a long duration of diabetes mellitus, or three or more CV risk factors.PMID:36727163 | DOI:10.4093/dmj.2021.0344

Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Korean Congenital Heart Disease Patients: A Nationwide Age- and Sex-Matched Case-Control Study
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, this nationwide study demonstrates that Korean patients with CHD have a high incidence of comorbidities, vascular events, and mortality. CHD has been established as an important predictor of cardiovascular events. Further studies are warranted to identify high-risk patients with CHD and related factors to prevent vascular events.PMID:36444542 | PMC:PMC9760894 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.0111

The Effects of Mineralocorticoid Receptor Antagonists on Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients With End ‐Stage Renal Disease and Heart Failure
ConclusionsIn patients undergoing regular dialysis who are diagnosed with heart failure, the use of MRAs is associated with lower risks of all-cause mortality and CV death. The benefits of MRA treatment in heart failure may persist in patients with ESRD. Further investigations through randomized controlled trials are needed to assess the efficacy and safety of MRAs in this high-risk population. This article is protected by copyright. A post-marketing safety assessment of COVID-19 mRNA vaccination for serious adverse outcomes using administrative claims data linked with vaccination registry in a city of Japan
CONCLUSION: The findings suggested that the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine was generally safe, whilst a signal of pulmonary embolism following the first dose of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine was observed.PMID:36371366 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2022.10.088
