Impact of comorbid conditions on health care expenditure and work-related outcomes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
CONCLUSION: Comorbid conditions in RA patients were associated with higher annual health care expenditure, lower likelihood of employment, higher rates of absenteeism and lower income. Despite its low prevalence, heart failure was associated with the highest incremental health care expenditure and the lowest likelihood of being employed compared to other common comorbid conditions. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis have impaired long-term outcomes after myocardial infarction: a nationwide case-control registry study
ConclusionRA is independently associated with poorer prognosis after MI. RA duration and corticosteroid usage and dosage were independent predictors of mortality after MI in RA. Special attention is needed for improvement of outcomes after MI in this vulnerable population.

Prevalence and clinical significance of electrocardiographic signs of atrial myopathy in rheumatoid arthritis: results from the EDRA study
CONCLUSIONS: Electrocardiographic markers of atrial myopathy are independently associated with RA. Further studies with larger sample size and longer follow-up are needed to determine whether the increased prevalence of atrial myopathy contributes to the increased risk of atrial fibrillation and stroke in this group.PMID:36622121 | DOI:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/d9l4lt

Epidemiology and survival of systemic sclerosis-sarcoidosis overlap syndrome
CONCLUSION: Sarcoidosis in SSc is rare but appears to occur more frequently than the general population. It is associated with pulmonary, lymph node, cutaneous, joint and hepatic involvement. Stroke occurs more frequently in SSc-sarcoidosis patients but with no differences in survival.PMID:36725057 | DOI:10.3899/jrheum.220877
