CONCLUSION: Non-cardioembolic disease was the overwhelming stroke mechanism in this middle-eastern cohort with only 4[percnt] of patients have cardioembolic stroke, in comparison to roughly 20[percnt] reported in Western cohorts. In part, these differences may be explained by deficient prolonged cardiac monitoring. Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs.
