This study aims to observe differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the human small airway epithelium of smokers compared to genes whose expression changes due to astaxanthin (AST) treatment, an antioxidant compound that can modulate Nrf2. Gene expression data that was stored in the GEO browser (GSE 11952) was analyzed using GEO2R to search for DEG among smokers and nonsmokers subject. Connecting Metainflammation and Neuroinflammation Through the PTN-MK-RPTP β/ζ Axis: Relevance in Therapeutic Development
Conclusion The expression of the components of the PTN-MK-RPTPβ/ζ axis in immune cells and in inflammatory diseases suggests important roles for this axis in inflammation. Pleiotrophin has been recently identified as a limiting factor of metainflammation, a chronic pathological state that contributes to neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. Impact of Lifestyle Diseases on Postoperative Complications and Survival in Elderly Patients with Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that the presence of a lifestyle disease was a significant prognostic factor for postoperative complications, but not of survival, in elderly patients with stage I NSCLC.
