LOXL1-AS1 promotes cell proliferation in hepatocellular carcinomathrough miR-1224-5p/ITPRIPL2/AKT axis
In this study, LOXL1-AS1 was overexpressed in HCC cell lines, and LOXL1-AS1 knockdown repressed cell proliferation and stimulated apoptosis in HCC. Besides, the activating role of LOXL1-AS1 in the AKT pathway was also confirmed. Further, miR-1224-5p was sponged by LOXL1-AS1, and overexpression exerted inhibitory function in HCC. Moreover, ITPRIPL2 as amiR-1224-5ptarget gene. Meanwhile, ITPRIPL2 deficiency suppressed HCC cell proliferation. Finally, miR-1224-5p inhibitor reversed the hindering role of LOXL1-AS1 depletion in HCC cell proliferation and AKT pathway, and this rescuing effect was offset by ITPRIPL2 silencing. In...

DUSP1 regulates the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway through targeting miR-21 in cervical cancer cells
In conclusion, overexpression of DUSP1 can target and reduce the expression of miR-21, block the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway, reduce the viability of CC cells, inhibit the proliferation and migration and invasion ability of CC cells, and induce apoptosis of CC cells, thus providing a theoretical basis for the targeted treatment of clinical CC.PMID:37715430 | DOI:10.14715/cmb/2023.69.8.6

Expression and Function of VEGFRs in Normal Epidermis and Psoriatic Lesional Keratinocytes
In this study, the expression and role of VEGFRs in keratinocytes were examined using examples from psoriatic and healthy individuals. The experiment was completed by immunofluorescence analysis, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, Western blot, and real-time quantitative RT-PCR after the skin of nonlesional, adjacent, and lesional skin was excised. Observations indicated that in non-lesional psoriatic areas and adjacent lesional areas of the skin of psoriasis patients, the fluorescent signals of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 were strongly labelled with keratinocytes, and in psoriatic lesions, keratinocytes were present...

Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Jul 31;69(7):51-56. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.7.9.ABSTRACTDiabetic nephropathy (DN) is the main cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Bioinformatics technology was adopted to screen and analyze the core genes of early DN to explore its pathogenesis. GSE30528, GSE96804, and GSE30122 chip data were obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to screen DN and healthy controls for differentially expressed genes. Gene Ontology (GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) for functional annotation and signaling pathway enrichment; String and Cytoscape were used for protein...

The discovery of the natural compound Boeravinone-C as a potential antiobesity drug candidate targeting pancreatic lipase using chemo-informatics-based approaches
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Jul 31;69(7):57-65. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.7.10.ABSTRACTObesity is a metabolic disorder distinguished by excess fat deposition in fatty tissues. Pancreatic lipase is one of the promising drug targets for treating obesity due to its critical role in the hydrolysis of triglycerides into mono-glycerides and free fatty acids. Due to unsatisfactory results and severe side effects of the current drugs available for treating obesity, there is an urgent need to identify novel therapeutic options. Boerhaavia diffusa is one of the widely known species of flowering plant commonly known as Punam...

Effects of celecoxib on AQP-1, NF- κB and apoptosis in lung tissue of neonatal rats with hyperoxia-induced lung injury
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Aug 31;69(8):73-77. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.8.11.ABSTRACTTo analyze the effects of AQP-1, NF-κB and apoptosis in lung tissue of neonatal rats with hyperoxia-induced lung injury (HILI).162 neonatal SD rats were divided into control group (COG), model group (MOG) and celecoxib group (CEG), 54 rats in each group. Each group was subdivided into 1st, 5th and 10th-day groups with 18 rats in each group. The neonatal rat model of HILI was established. Nine rats in each group were randomly selected on the 3rd, 6th and 12th day respectively. The level of oxidative stress (OS) in bronchoalveola...

Secretion of related factors and AMPK/PGC-1 α signal pathway by alveolar macrophages in viral acute lung injury
This study was to investigate the secretion of related factors by alveolar macrophages and AMPK/PGC-1 α signal pathway in viral acute lung injury (VALI) patients. 30 SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group (BCG) and VALI group (VALIG) with 15 rats in each group. The model of VALIG was induced by polyI: C and the BCG was given the same amount of normal saline. The IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were detected by ELISA. The protein, surface markers of alveolar macrophages, and related mRNA expression were detected by Western blot, ELISA, and qRT-PCR. IL-8, IL-6, TNF-α, MUC...

Effect of 4-AP on MPP+/ MPTP-induced Parkinson's disease model
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Aug 31;69(8):68-72. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.8.10.ABSTRACTTo study the effect of 4-AP on Parkinson's disease (PD) cells and animal model. PD cells were pretreated with different concentrations of 4-AP for 24 hours, then PD cells were prepared by MPP+, and the cell activity was detected by CCK8 kit. PD mice were prepared by MPTP and then given 4-AP for 10 days. Finally, the behavioral changes of mice were detected by pole climbing test and open field test, and the expression of TH in the midbrain was detected by IHC and WB. 4-AP could increase the activity of PD cells induced by MPP+. I...

The expression and clinical value of LRP11, FUBP1 and TET1 in cervical cancer
In this study, we examined three genes LRP11, FUBP1, and TET1 related to cervical cancer. The results of this study showed that the level of expression of these genes is high in lymph nodes and the thyroid and is less in the pancreas and liver. Also, the expression level of the FUBP1 gene is higher than that of LRP11, and the expression level of the LRP11 gene is higher than that of TET1. Regarding the structure and proteomics of the studied genes, it can be seen that due to the presence of more domains in the LRP11 and FUBP1 genes, these genes probably independently participate in various functions and have a wider range ...

Hsa-miR-497-3p impedes the proliferation and invasion of triple-negative breast cancer cells by controlling epithelial-mesenchymal transition through ZEB1 targeting
This study aimed to examine the hsa-miR-497-3p effect and mechanism on the behavior of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. We evaluated the expression of Hsa-miR-497-3p in tissue samples obtained from patients diagnosed with TNBC or luminal breast cancer (BrCa), utilizing the quantitative fluorescence polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. We transfected hsa-miR-497-3p mimics and NC into MDA-MB-231 cells, whilehsa-miR-497-3p inhibitor and NC into TNBC cells, respectively. To examine the impact of hsa-miR-497-3p expression level on TNBC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration, we employed MTT, clone formation, ...
