Prognostic significance of prolonged corrected QT interval in cerebral contusion
CONCLUSIONS: ECG changes on admission showing a prolonged QTc interval have prognostic significance in CC. This simple and easily applicable information should be taken into consideration at the time of clinical decision making which may prevent an adverse events survivor.PMID:37706372 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.ijmr_3629_21

Lung immune prognostic index ‑based nomogram for recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after postoperative adjuvant TACE
CONCLUSION: Preoperative LIPI might be a powerful predictor for RFS in HCC patients received PA-TACE. The LIPI-based nomogram could further effectively predict the risk of recurrence and help clinicians formulate personalized follow-up strategies and adjuvant therapy to improve patient outcomes.PMID:37707573 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-023-05413-7

Association of < em > CYP3A5*3, CYP3A4*18 & amp; CYP2B6*6 < /em > polymorphisms with imatinib treatment outcome in Azerbaijani chronic myeloid leukaemia patients
CONCLUSIONS: Our results demonstrated that CYP3A4*18 was significantly associated with IM treatment response in patients with CML in Azerbaijan, whereas rather common CYP3A5*3 was identified to have no such association.PMID:37706370 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.ijmr_1103_22

The role of plasma-induced surface chemistry on polycaprolactone nanofibers to direct chondrogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells
This study investigates how different surface properties induced by either coating deposition or biomolecules immobilization onto nanofibers (NFs) could affect BMSCs chondro-inductive behavior. Accordingly, electrospun poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) NFs were exposed to two surface modification strategies based on medium-pressure plasma technology. The first strategy is plasma polymerization, in which cyclopropylamine (CPA) or acrylic acid (AcAc) monomers were plasma polymerized to obtain amine- or carboxylic acid-rich NFs, respectively. The second strategy uses a combination of CPA plasma polymerization and a post-chemical te...

A case of diphenhydramine intoxication showing prolonged false positive tricyclic antidepressant in the urine assay
CONCLUSION: The present case suggests that diphenhydramine overdose may cause cerebellar ataxia and show prolonged cross-reactivity as TCA in the urine.PMID:37706054 | PMC:PMC10423011 | DOI:10.2478/abm-2023-0042

A physiologically-based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PBPK/PD) model for the insecticide dimethoate
Xenobiotica. 2023 Sep 14:1-20. doi: 10.1080/00498254.2023.2258507. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDimethoate is an organophosphate insecticide that is converted in vivo to omethoate, the active toxic moiety. Omethoate inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in the brain and red blood cells (RBCs). This paper describes the development of rat and human physiologically-based pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PBPK/PD) models for dimethoate. The model simulates the absorption and distribution of dimethoate and omethoate, the conversion of dimethoate to omethoate and to other metabolites, the metabolism and excretion of omethoate, an...
