Fluciclovine (18F) is a marker for high-affinity glutamine transporter ASCT2-mediated amino acid transport in breast cancer
Conclusion: Unlike prostate cancer, fluciclovine appears to be predominantly transported by the high-affinity glutamine transporter ASCT2 in breast cancer. This raises the potential for future clinical use in imaging response to inhibitors of glutamine metabolism, ASCT2 and pathways which regulate ASCT2.
